Me too, seems to read just fine. Quick and easy to put on.
BUT just saw what Dr is doing. Girl takes it sitting and reads ok. Dr has me jump up on table, takes it w arm hanging down. Reads high. Seems this high one is what he reports. Next time he is going to hear an earful :(

Nurse takes mine laying down, sitting up and standing. Every time. but only the cardiologist’s nurse, none of the others. Sitting with arm supported only.

hmmm My Dr, who by the way is also a cardiologist but I am not there for that reason since no heart problems,
does that lying down, sitting, standing thing. When I asked last time, he said was 150 etc. I knew the nurse-sitting was 135, so I asked him if he knew what it was sitting - - - he hummmd and indicated no.
sooo guess it is all ok if the numbers are noted when and how taken. So need to see what my BP is reported as.
Hmmm...The two nurses that took my BP the other day made me take all my clothes off and lie down...They were experimenting with a new manual technique (as yet not FDA approved)...
I bought my Omron from Amazon. It lasted about 3 1/2 years finally gave up the ghost I don’t know why. So I bought another one it’s on its way but insurance this time.
I have noticed that too. Thanks for the info on the Dollar store electrolyte. Also, I have noticed that if I have gas on my stomach, that causes high BP. (My doc confirms this.) I use The Omron 742. It is important to make sure that you get a normal sized cuff if you are a normal sized person. I wound up with a cuff for XL folks, and that is a problem on normal arms.
I take magnesium to control my BP.

About 4 years ago our FP discovered a murmur and wanted 2x a week BP/pulse measurements.
Last year I developed AV, and my new FP suggest 3 times a week.
My wife is an old fashioned 3 year RN, who was a pioneer RN in CCU units at a teaching hospital in the DC Area.
She became one of the best RN/Doctors re accurate BP readings. We moved to California, she became the head RN for a busy FP practice. The docs let her do all BP’s and murmur checking as she was better than they were.
So for 30 plus years she did the bp’s in their office.
She suggested a wrist monitor for our at home use.

At first, for about a week I would test myself, and she would run comparison’s with her retired office gear.
If I remembered to hold the wrist monitor a little above my heart, it was as accurate as her professional BP gear.
This OMRON is all we use.
The CVS pharmacy I talked to highly recommended Omron.
My husband is a heart transplant, he takes his BP twice a day and has used a wrist device from CVS for years. Our transplant team is fine with a wrist, what they look for are large deviations out of the ordinary which would last for several days.
When a nurse takes my BP for an office visit. it is usually higher than normal. Because I have thin arms the doctor then takes it with a smaller cuff and it is fine.

Do not waste your time with automatic BP machines. I have suffered from hypertension due to a kidney loss for over 25 years. I have purchased automatic machines three times over the years and returned every one of them because I typically got systolic readings 20 to 40 points above actual.
When I visit my internist, the nurse uses a machine. When my doctor comes in the room, she always takes my BP manually because she knows that in my case the machine is rarely accurate.
Most of my doctors are aware of this and use a manual cuff. So, forget about buying a machine. You can purchase manual cuffs on Amazon. My current one is a Paramed.
Walmart used to sell a manual cuff but not sure if they still do. Amazon has several but make sure you purchase one in which the stethoscope is attached to the cuff at the microphone (listening) end. Otherwise you will have a difficult time using the device by yourself.

It is one of those products that seems to work for everyone. It is reliable and easy to use.
Retail pharmacists recommend them and so do clinical pharmd’s for good followup at home. If it acts up, just change batteries.
Apparently, OMRON has some that will send data to a clinic or hospital re how patients at home are doing.
My first FP had a simple daily or weekly sheet for recording the data. Patients could just fax the results to his office.
My current FP wants me to use it once a week if everything is normal.
