Rudy Giulianis claim that truth isnt truth was roundly ridiculed on Twitter after his appearance Sunday on NBC with many suggesting President Trumps lawyer took a page out of George Orwells science fiction novel 1984.

“What is truth?” - Pontius Pilate
Up-chuck Todd
These are the same people who fawned over how “smart” Bill Clinton was with his “it depends on what the definition of is is”.
Truth isnt Truth!
Rudy is several cards short of a full deck. Trump should hook him off stage already. Everyone knows what he means, but that sentence is ripe for ridicule.
I read the transcript. Rudy was simply trying to say that what one person sees as the truth, another person might see as a lie.
And Rudy has a point. Anything Trump that might say to Mueller WILL be interpreted as a lie. If Trump were to say 1+1=2, Mueller will say that’s a lie. Because in base two, 1+1=10.
Then the headlines will scream “Trump Lies to Mueller”.
Methinks Rudy has lost the mental mojo he once had.
Rule number one when speaking to the general public: Assume they have the education of a 6th grader (and that’s being a bit generous). Don’t be vague. Don’t expect people to understand platitudes.
The statement is profound truth. The statement is clear except to the simple minded. Leftist, anti-Trump “Truth” is not truth at all. It is patent lies, false and fake. Therefore their “Truth” is not truth. How can people be so shallow in their thinking as to not see that clearly. It is disappointing , especially here. Rudy is one of the Great Lawyers of all time and he is whipping mueller’s ass!!
That was a stupid thing for Rudy to say.
First, the host said it, with a question mark, as: “Is this what you’re saying to me?”
Then Rudy agrees with him; repeating the same little slogan word for word with no qualifiers.
Thus, providing the loony left with an 18 wheeler truck’s worth of hot RED MEAT for their next TDS feeding frenzy, plus some!
The problem Rudy has is that he is talking and dealing in very complex legal concepts.
He isnt speaking in a way a judge and jury understands, but its too intellectual for the losers who watch MSNBC, CNN etc.
Rudy is one of the greatest legal minds of his generation but needs a lesson in rhetoric and media communication from President DJT
Democrats have rejected the idea of binary, so they can't follow that logic.
I watched the segment and Rudy schooled Chuckie. I thought Rudy was great. He was making the point that Comey claimed something was true and Trump claimed the opposite was true. One person’s version of the truth isn’t necessarily truth. Of course, Chuck and the MTP crowd has to make the whole interview about one phrase, taken out of context.
To the left, there is no difference between truth and lie. It is always what is felt at any one time and how it advances the cause. Anything Trump says or does will always be flipped.
Thanks to Orwellian Leftists in this country, we have forgotten what a lie is; a deliberate, knowing statement of untruth to one who has a right to the truth. DELIBERATE. KNOWING.
Exactly, this is spin and the anti Trump right is buying it like the fools they are or because it suits their purposes.
Yeah because the media will embrace and listen to a different lawyer / spokesman. Really its embarrassing to Trump for the media to be able to lie cheat steal twist and not report because of Rudy. Idiot.
I actually agree with Rudy, but he's not all that great in being succinct.
Since most Enemies Domestic, across the board, literally can't distinguish between facts and opinion, what the truth is, is more often than not up for grabs.
Scotter Libby was convicted for something the prosecutor KNEW he was not responsible for.
Federal prosecutors have a very long and shameful history of of knowingly prosecuting those they know are innocnet - Best examples being the Ruby Ridge case (multi-million dollar settlement for wrongful death, and all of the worst charges were dropped,) and the case where the FBI knowingly convicted innocent men in Boston, as the people who actually committed the crimes were confidential informants. As I recall, 4 were wrongfully convicted, spending decades in prison, and 2 actually died in prison.
Look at the conviction rates in federal prosecutions. It's frightening.
