My MIL’s funeral was preached by a snake-handling preacher. No snakes were involved.
So using their own logic, when his dad (Pastor Coots) was bitten, he was found wanting and paid the penalty (died). Maybe his faith was a strong as he believed.

Pastor Cody is very lucky that a HUGE strong man in overalls hauled him off to the hospital. Pastor Cody is an idiot, he needs to find a preaching job that doesn’t include venomous snakes.
Never understood the snake handlers. I know that God has saved me from many things during my life, including times when my life was in danger. That doesn’t make me want to tempt Him further by playing with a venomous reptile.

There was snake handling revivals from north Alabama Sand Mountain to West Virginia when I was little
My wife....middle TN .. went to one and her dad had a fight at the preacher claiming it was wrong to tempt God
Handlers are trying to prove they trust God to protect them based on the strength of their fatith
