When To Admit You Were Incorrect?
August 17, 2018 | MosesKnows

Posted on 08/17/2018 10:59:44 AM PDT by MosesKnows

I believed there were Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. After a search discovered no convincing evidence of WMDs I have to admit I was incorrect.

While I may still believe in the back of my mind there were WMDs I have no choice but to admit that no evidence exist to support that belief.

I don’t either. I was hoping to hear from people who would share why they believe that Trump conspired with Putin to defeat Hillary.

Unfortunately, that number is close to reality.

It amazes me to see people led down a fake path to a bad conclusion.

Do you believe that Trump colluded with Putin to steal the presidential election from Hillary Clinton?

The only way that election could have been "stolen" was for Hillary Clinton to have been a candidate worthy of being elected. Once the massive vote fraud nationwide is discounted, a couple of million more Americans chose the relatively unknown (policy wise) Trump over the known self-aggrandizing leftist Clinton.

if anybody conspired it was Billy Jeff, cause no way did he want to be in the spotlight again. He’d have been on a tight leash!

Yes. CNN showed convoys of trucks going from Iraq to Syria for days and days. My husband and I said at the time, there go the WMDs.

Bush should have never said he was wrong. Saddam would not have pulled all the shenanigans he did if he did not have WMDs...there would have been no need for him to play the stupid games that led to the invasion. He would likely still be in charge. He had WMDs and that is why he had to play games with inspectors and the rest of the world.

Search for a timeline that led up our invasion, one that shows every action of Saddam. Not the actions of a man that had no WMDs to hide, just seeing that all in one place is enough proof for me that he had WMDs.

The other issue is many soldiers that were there have told us they found WMDs, but they were not counted because they were “old, rusty, not exactly what they were looking for” which was nonsense. Of course all there current/best chemicals, ETC went to Syria, but there was many discoveries of old stuff in places all over the country. As if the “old” chemical weapons would not be a danger if used?

The left and the MSM sold the narrative there were no WMDs and Bush did nothing to stand up to that or correct that. He allowed that story to be sold to most, I did not buy it then and don’t buy it now, never will.

We found evidence of the WMD program, our intel picked up Russian vehicles moving WMDs to Syria, Iraq's governmetn documents said they had WMDs, they would never let inspectors look at some sites, six intelligence services said there were WMDs in Iraq, and the New York Times reported early in the war that our troops had let some WMDs slip out of a silo.

Are you sure there weren't any?

Saddam agreed to be wiped out if he did not comply with the treaty ending the Iraq War. His non-compliance weekly justified our war.

Yes, you have to look at the whole big picture. Looking at the big picture says there was more than enough justification.

I had many issues with President Bush, especially his weakness on the border issues- but never faulted the Iraq War and feel like this country has been a huge victim of the left and MSM revising hisory as we go. They did the same with the Vietnam War...they revised history as we went then too- so many people now have no idea why we fought in Vietnam or why we did not have a clear victory when we won the battles.

One reason the swamp is so deep is it goes back much further than we realize. Most of us had no other way to get information than what we were told by the MSM and politicians. We should know by now how far that can be from the truth.

I believe that Hillary Clinton colluded with Putin to steal the presidential election from Trump. But she was such a godawful candidate that they still couldn't pull it off.

BTW, among the things our troops found when they occupied Baghdad was a listing of Iraqi intelligence assets. On page 17 (I think — it might have been 13), there was a listing of assets of the Damascus bureau of Iraqi intelligence. Guess whose name was there? Osama bin Laden.

Yes they will. Have had many of them say that over the years.

The Iraq Veterans are getting a lot of the same raw deal the Vietnam Veterans got as well...they are told by the left, and some on the right they fought a war that should not have been fought, and they are told they lost because the nation building and ISIS that came after. Which was due to policy that had nothing to do with fighting the war. How do you think and Iraq Veteran feels when he hears he fought a war that was not justified and we lost?

One of my son in laws was deployed to Iraq more than once but not to Afghanistan, he has caught flack from people about “not being in a real war” or fighting an “unjust war” does that sound familiar? The other son in law was deployed to both and people act like he is a hero for going to Afghanistan, they ignore his deployment to Iraq.

These are things that the left uses as a wedge against the military they claim to support. They love to denigrate veterans for their service. They forget, as do many others that the military does not make the decision where to go or why. That decision is made by people elected by we the people. Right or wrong in hindsight our military that has been willing to fight for this country need to all be seen as the heroes they were and are. We send them off to war, then want to blame them when it is we the people that send them.

The false premise was that the alleged WMD were sufficient basis to throw trillions of dollars and thousands of lives into the toilet.

Not only that, NY Times wrote several stories about fearing that the insurgents would get the Iraqi WMD’s when ISIS was spreading. I guess the left side of their mouths forgot what the right side had said.

To paraphrase Rummsfeld, ‘We know they have WMD’s because we sold them to him.”

My dilemma, at the time of my mistake, involved a beer keg, a snow tire, and a crazed Albanian dwarf with a chihuahua named “Spike”...

It didn’t end well...
