More than one million pilgrims have already arrived in Saudi Arabia, days before the kingdom prepares to host its mammoth annual Hajj pilgrimage, according to state media.
The Hajj, which is expected to draw more than two million pilgrims this year, represents a key rite of passage for Muslims and a massive logistical challenge for Saudi authorities as these stunning images show.

You will be required to recite verses from the Koran, name the 5 pillars of Islam and other various trivia.
The penalty could get real serious...........................
If you want to visit Vatican City ... you go and visit Vatican City.
If you want to visit Jerusalem ... you go and visit Jerusalem.
If you want to visit Mecca ... you have to lie, and deceive, and risk your life.
Currently, infidels are barred from visiting Mecca and Medinah.
That's why I said "a mosque far away".That way the likelihood of me ever seeing anyone I saw at this mosque would be just about zero.

Yes,I've read that that kind of thing can happen.I do understand that I'd have to do some preparation before attempting the visit....things like learning a few verses.
There were a few rides that had waits in excess of an hour, but that could be managed through the Fast Pass.
Combine this with schools back in session (our ISD started the new school year yesterday), crowds should be smaller than what they've been.
Apologies for going O/T.
Im going to Disney World in a few weeks. It will be during the food and wine festival, so it should be a lot of fun.
Reading this post and seeing the pictures has given me a different feeling here than most. I see millions of people who want to know God, yet don’t understand they’re being deceived. My prayer is that Jesus will make Himself known to them.
You made me choke on my coffee!
Brennan had better get there before Trump’s feds show up with handcuffs...
A friend of mine once said that much of the problems in the ME would be solved if the governments of the countries would just invest in a large system of public showers, so that everyone could take a cool shower, once a day.
At least they save money on toilet paper; most Muslims don’t use it
He was with us at Legoland for a couple of days, a great venue for kids that age.
Disney made the right move when they allowed beer and wine into their parks. We took one of our many breaks at a wine bar at California adventure. It was my first glass of wine in two months...it's been too damn hot in North Texas to drink wine.
Also found a great wine bar in Oceanside CA. While the wife and grandson were at the beach, I spent a couple of hours enjoying their menu. Liked it so much, I bought half a case, including 3 killer shirazes, each with a distinctive taste. Wifey wasn't pleased, but she'll be fine when the weather cools down.
I'm looking forward to the completion of our kitchen remodel, which includes a built in 46 bottle wine cooler.
The penalty for apostasy in Islam is death. If you are up for a fatwa go for it.
Yeah, this loading on my phone is killing me. It appears that the whole thread is over when it’s not. So I think I’m clever.
Then I go back and see that I’m an utter tool, repeating things from a ton of posts back !
"Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund announced plans to set up two investment companies to develop infrastructure in Mecca and Medina, in a bid to accommodate the increasing numbers of Muslim pilgrims."
Two investment companies? Perhaps they don't even comingle male and female in the porta pottie investment business.
Always the devout enemy islamist, I’d bet he’s been there before.
I also suspect there is something representing the US nearby that they can all curse and spit upon.
Where is a Nuke when they are called for?
