Stan Mikita, arguably the greatest player in Blackhawks history, died Tuesday after a long illness. He was 78.
There are no words to describe our sadness over Stans passing, the team said in a statement. He meant so much to the Chicago Blackhawks, to the game of hockey, and to all of Chicago.

I was also a big Chicago Blackhawks and Mikita fan. Their Central HL team was the Dallas Blackhawks where goalie Esposito played a couple of years before being called up to the NHL. .......I began going to the Dallas games in the early ‘60s and really enjoyed seeing the NHL players playing some injury rehab time there, as well as some of our favorites being called up to the big team and being able to watch them on TV.

That is a great story! Lots of inventions happen just by chance. But it takes a cleaver person to pick up on it.
