I grew up in Montana. Went through some pretty damaging hail storms. There is extreme weather in the summer months. Especially in areas with high elevation. Having grown up with this type of weather on the regular, I'd a be bit hesitant to put this on a list of chaotic and everywhere. I think with the internet we and the 24/7 news cycle we hear more of what is going on everywhere.
I don't want to devalue your point. Just confirm that weather such as this is not unusual in these sorts of area in the summer months.

Was in and around Ouray, Colorado last month. We saw a car dimpled like a golf ball. Not something we see in our part of the country. But someone explained it to us. Aw hail.

Climate change. Global average temperature was up 0.32 degrees last month , compared to the 1970’s average temperature.

I lived in Colorado for many years and summer tornadoes, hail storms, wildfires, crazy lightning, etc. are the NORM. Living in the Rockies is not for the faint of heart. One hail storm did $25,000 damage to my house, deck, and yard.
