Conservative Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin tore into White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday, saying she should be shunned from her next job for her false and misleading claims.
“Sarah Huckabee Sanders is so concerned that people aren’t nice to her,” Rubin told MSNBC’s Joy Reid on "AM Joy." “And people like me think that — not that she should be harassed — but that she should be shunned. The reason is that she lies.”
“She attacks our free press and no respectable employer should hire her after this term,” Rubin continued. “Also, no university and no news outlet. She has lied and she has endangered the lives of reporters and that’s why she should be shunned. Not harassed — shunned.”
Rubin’s remarks came days after Sanders verbally sparred with CNN reporter Jim Acosta during a confrontation at a White House press briefing.
Sanders refused, multiple times, to condemn President Trump’s comments calling the media the “enemy of the people,” prompting Acosta to walk out of the briefing early.
“We don’t have to put it [the press briefing] on television, we don’t have to put it on television live,” Rubin suggested on Sunday. “If by some chance she utters some morsel of accurate information it could be fact-checked and related to the audience. The same thing with the rallies — no reason to put them on live television.”
Rubin frequently criticizes the GOP and Trump in her “Right Turn” blog for the Post, previously calling Trump an "arrogant fool" and a "flat-out racist."
Earlier this week, the columnist declared in a scathing editorial that the GOP “isn’t fit to govern.”

Jennifer Rubin is no conservative and should be shunned for everything she’s ever written. Oh, and what did Sanders lie about?

Rubins is no conservative. She is not even close. She is only called a conservative so that MSN and the Post do not have to get a real conservative to claim that they are balanced. David Brooks is the same. He is never right on anything, no matter what definition of right you use.
It’s one of the greatest services President Trump is doing for the country, causing all these poseurs to drop their masks.

Sarah is the one they attack and then say she has no right to defend herself. I am really weary of all the nuts who are so self righteous they feel they can attack at will and then attack more when the victim complains.
Trump has been too easy on them also... trying to thread the needle from both sides... trying to ride the fence so not to lose the mid terms.. but this crap is way over the edge and we can do nothing?

well shades of Salem, Rubin. It’s interesting to see what lengths people who have no moral capability of throwing the first stone will go to make themselves feel superior.
A press secretary’s job is to present the administration’s positions. They are not in the witness box for the press to cross-examine under oath. They are not children reporting their day to a parent. Anyone who doesn’t understand that simple concept, which was well-taught under the previous administration, doesn’t deserve a press pass. If they have an issue with something said, take it up with the specific department or agency. Scapegoating or arguing with the messenger is just a juvenile excuse to hide lazy, armchair reporting behind grandstanding.
