In some twisted philosophical logic it might be a valid point,

If anyone were an expert on twisted philosophical logic, that would be you.

I suppose I could also name call but you have shown me your nature.

well, let's see.

you tried "to twist my words." That is verifiable.

You did it in a way easily verifiable. Right here. Right now. That makes you a moron. What else could you be?

Therefore, "shown me your nature" is a good thing.

You're welcome.

Here's an example of a total lack of common sense: Just today, in my nice suburban neighborhood, I saw a small girl (probably 10-11 years old) walking a pit bull...BY HERSELF.

For some reason, irresponsible morons seem to be drawn to pit bulls.

Hey, intellectual, ISIS is not a sect. Communicating with you is beginning to resemble interacting with my psychiatric patients. Adios.

Hey, intellectual, ISIS is not a sect.

never said they were:

"maybe the fun-loving-beheading ISIS bunch. Heard of them? "

say hi to them for me at your next reunion.

Mostly males who seem desperate to prove their manlyhood to themselves and others. So overly emotional!

I guess now that I have heard Kellie call them America’s dog that makes it so.
The last run in I had with a pit was beating the hell out of one to get it off my dog, which it attacked for no apparent reason. My dog was on a leash, the pit was not although the pit was with its shady looking owner. It was pretty hard to get it to let go of my dog and I got fairly well scraped and beat up doing it. The owner didn’t help at all or even say anything until I got the dogs seperated. Lucky for the pit and it’s stupid owner, I didn’t just shoot it. I was armed and seriously considered shooting it but I was leaving for the sand box in a day and didn’t want to get caught up with the police for shooting a dog in town. I did tell the guy that if it happens again I will kill his dog. I don’t blame the dog. I have 5 dogs. I love dogs but I don’t care for the irresponsible type of people who tend to own pits, which I believe is the reason we hear so many stories like the one we are commenting on here.

Perhaps the bigger issue is personal responsibility.

Most good natured laws were enacted to primarily protect the public at large. In some places it’s laws against tall grass to discourage rodents and fire. Other laws are to encourage decency when people need more encouragement to be good neighbors ; such as no loud music after “normal” hours. In both instances there is a restriction to freedom. That is oneof the many shortcomings with living in urban areas.

In the case of dangerous things, such as storing large amounts of fuel, chemicals, animals, or could be a case of protecting the public from an individual who isn’t financially or otherwise preparedfor the outcome of their actions. Still though, it’s a restriction on a persons freedom.

I am a HUGE supporter of personal freedoms. Likely WAY past libertarian, straight to John Locke or Tho Paine, perhaps more.
The issue is personal responsibility. Few people in our society want and/or are able to be responsible. To me that’s why this issue is so problematic. Similar to legalized and unfettered controls on drugs or other substances. We should demand accountability with freedom. Without it society pays. That is not freedom from the standpoint that now society bears the brunt of the mess.

Outright ban or registration violates the basic tenets of true freedom, however when something horrible occurs are people stepping up and owning their drama? The cops are looking for the owner because no one is owning up to consequence of this incident.

Perhaps insurance or a bond requirement would be a starting point. Insurance companies already have limitations on what they will cover for their clients, perhaps this is what is appropriate.

I’m sorry that here on FR this subject and it’s discussion devolved to personal attacks.

That’s because the so-called owners of these dogs use them for intimidation factor. They are low life.
Even these suburban moms who go to shelters and brag about being a “rescue mom” walking these beasts around the neighborhood can barely hold them back on a leash.
Idiots. All of them.

I don’t find them cute, so whatever. They are ugly dogs and aren’t the most intelligent breed either. Except on lying pro pit websites.

I guess if you mixed one with a shepard or golden retriever.

By example, the second most intelligent breed in the grouping of pit bulls, which is the Staffordshire Terrier, is ranked 49th out of 100 breeds. The breeds most commonly used for K-9 officers - German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and Dobermans - are ranked 3rd, 9th, and 5th respectively.

Now go run and find two or three pits used for such jobs, doesn’t matter I’m talking over all, the majority and in general.

“They should all be rounded up and shot before anyone else gets maulef.”

The filthy bastards who treat them brutally from puppyhood so they will be vicious should be shot on sight.

"1) Perhaps insurance or a bond requirement would be a starting point. Insurance companies already have limitations on what they will cover for their clients, perhaps this is what is appropriate.

2) I’m sorry that here on FR this subject and it’s discussion devolved to personal attacks." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1) Yes. Unfortunately, this appears to be exactly what the type of persons who own these dogs do not do.

In addition, no nationally known insurance company will insure for liability of these dogs through homeowner's or renter's insurance except State Farm. The rest specifically do not cover these dogs, and indeed the ownership of same can invalidate the insurance.

Here is a source of information on the subject:

"Insuring pit bulls, State Farm pays out double the norm for dog attacks

2) Please read the entire thread, and any other thread posted on FR in the last month, keyword: "pitbull", for the source of the personal attacks.

Thank you, Norski

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

The person who posted this demanded months ago that I not reply to them, believing that I was Chet99. So, I do not.

However, as requested, I will add this person to the prayer list.
