Julie Fletcher of Bolivar, New York, has filed a lawsuit against Canada Drys parent company Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, claiming the companys ginger ale drink, which bills itself as being made from real ginger, hardly contains any ginger at all.
In Fletchers class-action lawsuit filed July 10 in New York federal court, she noted Canada Drys ginger flavor extract is not real ginger as reasonable consumers understand that term, according to the New York Post. It is manufactured in a lab using various chemicals and extraction processes.
While the product has some ginger compounds, the percentage is a minuscule two parts per million.
Instead, Canada Dry Ginger Ale is made from carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, preservatives, and natural flavors, i.e., a flavor compound comprised predominately of flavor extracts not derived from ginger, and a minuscule amount of a ginger flavor extract, the lawsuit alleged.

Aw, man, why didnt I think of that?
Maybe we could get something going with French dressing. The French have never heard of that crap.
Dayum!
My mom gave us 7-up for upset tummies. I’m guessing that the carbonation does more to help than the ginger does.
I used to love Capn Crunch! I am shocked, shocked, to find out he is not a real captain! Pain and suffering! At least 6 digits worth!
We keep Canada Dry around all the time.
That always helps with upset stomach and other digestive problems.
And no cocaine in Coca-Cola.
Furthermore, Dr. Pepper is not made by a doctor and has no pepper.
And there is no beer in root beer.
So Canada Dry Ginger Ale will prevent seasickness?
Try Rocky's Ginger Beer. Made with pure cane sugar and actual ginger.
I could never stand Schweppes.
“Okay, and what, exactly, is her injury?”
She is offended. To the left, that is enough. Even if the offense doesn’t rise to butt hurt levels.
It helps some but Id say not enough for real sea sickness. Try grating raw ginger into a big pitcher, put in some honey, then pour boiling water in, let steep 30 mins or more. Then strain into something and chill, then put in your thermos for the trip.
Also try taking a raw lemon and a mint tea bag. Scrape the lemon peel and sniff, really helps against mild nausea. Sniffing mint does the same. Tea bag easier to take and lasts long, can even be in the pocket.
I want to try the new kind of Dramamine (dont know the name) that is a non drowsy, next time I have to go on a boat. The other kind is useless because it knocks you out.

Ya-know, I am pretty sure that there’s an ingredient’s list somewhere on the label and you can bet your bottom dollar it complies with all required laws. Most likely, one ingredient conspicuously not on that list is ginger. As someone else mentioned, what about Coke?
Sounds authentic.
Reminds me when I was in the LA area decades ago and Fosters beer had a big advertising csmpaign with lots of images of Australia and always with a banner emphasizing it was imported. I got a hold of a can and in fine print it said brewed in Canada.
I finally got rid of my 1980s 17” Sony Trinitron brick and got a 40” Samsung HD set. Wow, what a difference! That Sony was state-of-the-art hardware for decades. The next purchase will be a 65” to 85” Samsung to hang on the LR’s wall, after the condo is completely rehabbed. I have a couple of Comcast/xfinity tech guys who are friends, and will help me with the “off duty” installation and set-up.
