The new record is done! The new album includes many styles of music. Since our last album and the recent footage from the studio, weve seen a lot of discussion about the evolution of our new music. Disturbed Ones, we have decided to embrace the debate. For our next single what kind of sound do you want it to be? Tell us
Terrified they did.
Losing one Pig Benis was enough.
A cross between the Doors and Bluegrass.
I hope its closer to the first album.
Can’t wait to see them in concert again!
I was moved beyond words when I watched that video, and had to buy the song from iTunes.
However, not being a metalhead, the rest of Disturbed catalog doesn't interest me very much.
Agree with you on the Sound of Silence, I think it’s way better than S & G’s rendition. Tried to listen to some of their other work and not my taste.
Aside from that remake, which is excellent, Disturbed is utterly awful. Its not that they are not talented, but their music is just WTF bad.
I see many comments saying Disturbed “Sound of Silence” is better so I carefully listened to both. I just don’t hear it as better - it’s ok.
Some of their songs are really good, some are atrocious. Their cover of “Land of Confusion” is as good as the original. “Stricken” “mine” “old friend” “who taught you how to hate” “facade” crinimal” and “haunted” come to mind as really good, albeit probably not your cup of tea if you don’t like metal. Some of their other songs are unlistenably bad.
'Better' or 'worse' are very subjective terms. I don't think either one is 'better,' but I found the Disturbed version to be very powerful. I really liked the raspy sound of David Draiman's voice in the song, with the controlled and understated force he used. I liked how the song slowly builds to a crescendo, then back to the quiet almost whisper at the end.
David has a great voice, and I hate to use the word 'wasted,' but let's just say that on most of Disturbed's songs it is lost under the motoring guitars.
Ten Thousand Fists and Warrior are pretty awesome songs, too. Draiman has impressive vocals.
I was hoping it was rap music or country rap : )

Apparently an acoustic album? Ok...not terribly disappointed yet.
