May be asking questions first could have been an option?

Local news is reporting that the police shot him while they were still outside of the house and homeowner was in the house. I don’t think this will be good for the officer that shot the homeowner.

Having called 9-1-1 while holding a firearm, I know that this was one of the top risks I considered. Communication is essential in such a situation.

A couple of lessons here... tell the 911 operator you’re armed, and put the damn thing down when the cops pull up unless you’re under imminent threat.

Chaos causes mistakes.

A real win-win as far as the state is concerned. Sad.

Do a piss/blood test on the cops to see if they’ve been smoking marijuana. It is Denver after all. Just saying.

Do they recruit their cops from Somalia? This is just a horrific thing to happen.

Aurora police, who described the scene in a statement as “very chaotic and violent,” ...

If the intruder was already dead I'd like to hear a detailed explanation of that statement. It better be a good one.

It’s all good.

The officer made it home safe for dinner.

The intruder was naked and trying to drown the homeowner’s grandson in the bathtub.

The link seemed wormy. Did the article say if the cops told the homeowner to drop the gun?

I ask because it does not seem very likely the homeowner would point his gun at responding uniformed cops since he was the victim of the /break-in/burglary.

Trigger happy cops? Can handle homeowner being armed? Or did homeowner threaten cops? Definitely not trusting cops on this one. Lets see cameras and witnesses.

If you are defending yourself, don’t call 9-1-1 until you have the situation under control.
