AURORA, Colo. (AP) A man who fatally shot an intruder in his suburban Denver home early Monday was killed by responding officers who saw him holding a weapon, investigators said.
Police received multiple calls about a break-in at the home at about 1:30 a.m., and when officers arrived, they heard gunshots inside, The Aurora Sentinel reported .
Aurora police, who described the scene in a statement as very chaotic and violent, said they encountered an armed man and fatally shot him. That man turned out to be the person who lived in the home. A second man, the suspected intruder, was found dead during a search.

Local news is reporting that the police shot him while they were still outside of the house and homeowner was in the house. I don’t think this will be good for the officer that shot the homeowner.

Having called 9-1-1 while holding a firearm, I know that this was one of the top risks I considered. Communication is essential in such a situation.

The officer will get off with the “I felt threatened” Defense. Police officers are now taught to believe that there lives are more important than anyone else’s.
Unless this home owner pointed his gun at the police then he did not deserve to die. How about the intruder? Since the whole incident was caused by the intruder then what happens to them?

I dont think this will be good for the officer that shot the homeowner.
Depends on whether there is a Trump sign in his front yard. He may get a medal if there is. Denver is the new Detroit, the liberals own it.

As a homeowner thats been involved int his, you dont know how many others were with the one guy, you don know where they are, if they are waiting to attack you, regrouping, you cant ever assume its over until thorough searches are done.
And hopefully the cops dont blow you away while you are defending yourself.
This is why i would hesitate to get involved with helping a cop in a gunfight. They could very well assume the worst about you and then youre dead.

If you have the means and the will, maybe better to call 911 after threat has been neutralized .

A couple of lessons here... tell the 911 operator you’re armed, and put the damn thing down when the cops pull up unless you’re under imminent threat.
Chaos causes mistakes.

Not with today's cops, shoot first and make sure you go home safe, that is all that matters.

Do a piss/blood test on the cops to see if they’ve been smoking marijuana. It is Denver after all. Just saying.

What happens to the intruder? A burial because the homeowner killed him.
