In a divided U.S., therapists treating anxiety are hearing the same name over and over: Donald Trump

"Is he gonna blow us all up?"

So inquired one of Elisabeth LaMotte's patients recently, fretting out loud about the volatility of U.S. President Donald Trump's actions during a therapy session at her Washington practice.

It was a rhetorical question — one that predated Trump's threats of a showdown with Iran this week. But if the question wasn't meant in earnest, the politically induced anxiety LaMotte is hearing about from her clients certainly is, says the founder of the D.C. Counselling and Psychotherapy Center.

She refers to it as a "collective anxiety" among patients who feel on edge about how potentially dire the president's decisions could be.

"There is a fear of the world ending," she said. "It's very disorienting and constantly unsettling."

What's been called "Trump Anxiety Disorder" has been on the rise in the months following the election, according to mental-health professionals from across the country who report unusually high levels of politics-related stress in their practices.

And it's maybe not surprising given the relentlessly negative headlines and politically divisive climate.

Yep. We swallowed eight years worth of Obama sh_t sandwiches . It’ nice to have a menu change and enjoy watching the other side choking on the nasty stuff now.

This was my pal talking about someone else. It was just a sneaky way to get anti-Trump vitriol into a lunch that I was trying to keep apolitical.

There is no such thing as apolitical anymore.

But you’re right: If you ask for individual issues, they are usually stuck.

If the liberal snowflakes, products of the Jinnah Carter/NEA, aided and abetted by feminism and neglegent parents, cannot cope with the country saying “No!” to them, then, well, Darwin has the answer.

Can’t blame NYC for this one. My pal was from New Jersey.

Maybe for the CNN forced down people’s throats, yeah.

I think President Trump loves his life, his family, his job, his country and his supporters. He seems to be extraordinarily and simply honest about his policies. He's never done or said anything to cause me to believe he fears God. I pray for him because I think he's in a lot of danger.

Exodus 18:21
Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

What you said, precisely and concisely.

It's the same-old, same-old every time a Republican is in the WH.

Falsely reporting presidential warmongering, the return of homelessness, efforts to cut off Social Security, starving the children, all bull crap and they know it...as with the Reagan years, never a MSM mention or discussion of a robust economy, enemies world-wide scaling back their aggressiveness, a return to national pride, etc.

And with President Trump, it's by far the worst I've ever seen.

OK, so who would YOU suggest to run this country that fears God and has all the other attributes of Trump that you listed?

To me, the biggest laugh in all this is the headshrinker pretending to give a bleep. We all know that the wackier and more alarmed these leftists are, the more cha-ching cha-ching rolls into THE SHRINK’S coffers. Let’s not try to gull one another.

A good therapist knows that Donald Trump is not the real cause of personal anxiety, anger or depression. A GOOD therapist knows that these come from within the person.

What this really shows is the incredible power the biased mainstream media has on the population.

24/7 Trump mass hysteria.

What's been called "Trump Anxiety Disorder" has been on the rise in the months following the election, according to mental-health professionals from across the country who report unusually high levels of politics-related stress in their practices.

Leftardism causes infantilization, which leads to helplessness and incompetence, which leads to snowflakes that are hypersensitive and unable to cope with stress.

Bull crap! The media, the media, the media, with their fire fighting with gasoline news. We’ve been on edge since 1946, there will be wars, so get use to it. Unfortunately the run duck and cover age is still with us. The media has turned a lot of people in to big wusses. Vote in a wuss and you will see what can happen. They aren’t protectors, they’re prey.

“the politically induced anxiety”

No the anxiety is because these people have not learned how to think and reason properly in their brains. They believe what they are told instead of looking at the info themsleves and making informed decisions from the facts.

They also show they do not trust in God because if they did they would have peace in whatever is trying to feel like a storm in their lives. God is real, His peace is real, I’m living in it now as are others I know and countless others around the world who belive and Trust God and His word in the bible in their crisis, storm situations.

We all have times we feel unable to control situations, but I used to live by feelings and let emotions carry me and all it did was lead to bondage of fear. Anxiety meds and talking to “learned” counselors for hours is not even remotely close to what wonderful things God would do if these people earnestly turned toward Him and truly let Jesus lead their lives.

Donald Trump is a God given blessing to our country and us citizens after the curse of predacessors.

“We heard the same thing under Bush and Reagan.”

Yup, people who can’t read, are not capable of reasoning and blessed with closed minds all going back to the same line. ...
