"Is he gonna blow us all up?"
So inquired one of Elisabeth LaMotte's patients recently, fretting out loud about the volatility of U.S. President Donald Trump's actions during a therapy session at her Washington practice.
It was a rhetorical question one that predated Trump's threats of a showdown with Iran this week. But if the question wasn't meant in earnest, the politically induced anxiety LaMotte is hearing about from her clients certainly is, says the founder of the D.C. Counselling and Psychotherapy Center.
She refers to it as a "collective anxiety" among patients who feel on edge about how potentially dire the president's decisions could be.
"There is a fear of the world ending," she said. "It's very disorienting and constantly unsettling."
What's been called "Trump Anxiety Disorder" has been on the rise in the months following the election, according to mental-health professionals from across the country who report unusually high levels of politics-related stress in their practices.
And it's maybe not surprising given the relentlessly negative headlines and politically divisive climate.

This has to be coming out of media
I wonder what platorms are used and by what means
Nah, go ahead and read it. It’s not nearly as tasty as Election Night reactions, but there are a few laughs there to be had at their expense.
That says less about Trump than it does about the fragile flowers who can’t accept the fact that they alone don’t get to define the world. And the media that feed their paranoia a steady diet of hyperbole and lies.
I had the same bad feelings for 8 long years with obama!
For those who don’t like Trump, they are either sheep and don’t have a mind to figure things out, or they are just on the wrong side of good and evil, and don’t know the difference. Either way, they are ignorant and have no discernment nor sense.
I had worked a loooooooooong day as election judge. It is normal in our precinct to have a lot of early birds in line by 6:50 am but that morning they were lining up at 6:15 am. When we finally finished with the last voter, closed things down and read out the tapes, Trump was winning by a bigger ratio than is usual in a presidential year in our precinct.
I made an innocent remark like "Wow! This election is going to be a lot closer than the pundits predicted." The Democrat lady on our board just turned to me and said "Sorry, I couldn't bring myself to vote for her."
So I went home exhausted, flopped into bed and slept for less than an hour before I had to get up and watch TV.

The psychology/therapy sector experiencing another quarter of unparalleled growth.
WINNING.
ah here we go
ThinkProgress Senior Editor Is Scared of His Plumber
01/15/17
A visit from a plumber left ThinkProgress senior editor Ned Resnikoff rattled due to fear that the plumber may have voted for Donald Trump.
Resnikoff said his fear was rooted in the chance that the plumber knew he was Jewish.
While I had him in the apartment, I couldnt stop thinking about whether he had voted for Trump, whether he knew my last name is Jewish, and how that knowledge might change the interaction we were having inside my own home, he said.
The uncertainty of the situation left Resnikoff rattled for some time.
I have no real reason to believe he was a Trump supporter or an anti-Semite, but in my uncertainty I couldnt shake the sense of potential danger, he wrote. I was rattled for some time after he left.

His advice, “buy stock in Kleenex, extra soft.”
Since all the therapists Ive ever know have been liberals, Im sure they arent much help . Yes. He is going to blow us up...next.
...How were you able to sleep?
I had to work the next day
I had a wonderful skip in my step, however
The cure is simple: Just turn off CNN and MSNBC.
We did. Leftists are apparently beset with irrational fear.
Strange that conservatives endured Obama’s Reign of Error for 8 miserable years without having to run to these Fake Mental Health Professionals. Of course, if I were a federal employee accustomed to sitting in my office and watching porn and getting a fat paycheck for it, I’d would probably feel insecure, too.
“He was a perfectly nice guy and a consummate professional. But he was also a middle-aged white man with a southern accent who seemed unperturbed by this week’s news.”
STRANGER DANGER!
I was #NeverTrump and I can honestly say he never gave me any anxiety. No, it was his ruthless, deplorable supporters here on FR that drove me crazy. Congratulations Winners, for the 1st time in my lifetime, you finally got the President you voted for. And maybe best of all, he drives the Deep Statist Pagan Sodomites nuts!
I was seated at a restaurant the other day right next to the TV, which was playing CNN. I first asked if the channel could be changed. Laughter. I then asked to be moved to a different area of the restaurant. Sulkiness from the hostess but she moved me.
When my pal arrived, I was determined to avoid politics. But during the lunch came the stab: “he’s disturbed at what’s happening to our country.” Couldn’t she have found a less insulting way to say that? Just say “he hates Trump”? It ruined the lunch.
No more going to this restaurant. No more lunches with people who think Trump is ruining America. You have two choices in NYC: get insulted by the Left or become a hermit.
I work for an ABC affiliate. The View comes on every day. Every day, I try to leave it on because were supposed to have the air monitor on at all times. Every day it takes under a minute before that cast of one trick ponies starts bashing the president, and off the TV goes until the show is over.
Johnny Carson picked on EVERYONE without exception. But his humor was good-natured. And the Tonight Show made more money than the rest of the lineup on the entire network. People from every stripe watched religiously. Those women arent being entertaining, they are ideologue zealots who cram their political message down youre throat with a battering ran. There are a lot of shows on TV that manage to entertain an audience and NOT be overtly political.
And so, the air monitors go off for that hour every day with the first word of Trump bashing. ABC goes out every day and tries to sell ads on that show. I wonder how many more ads theyd sell if they werent offending potentially half their audience? When your own TV station wont watch the show, rheres a problem there.
Great!! The U.S. will enjoy more leftist heads to vaporlock!!
