Star Wars: Episode IX will begin filming August 1 at London’s Pinewood Studios, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant joining the main cast that will also include Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian as had been tipped.
Disney and Lucasfilm also said the role of Leia Organa will be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fisher, at the core of the iconic franchise since 1977’s original film with Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford and who appeared in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, died in December 2016.
“We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” said director J.J. Abrams in announcing the news on StarWars.com. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie [Lourd], we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
Abrams directs the script he co-wrote with Chris Terrio.
The main cast from The Last Jedi is also back, Lucasfilm and Disney confirmed: Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo and Lourd.
John Williams, who has scored every chapter in the Star Wars saga, will also return.
The film has a December 20, 2019 release date.

J.J. Abrams could resurrect Han, Luke, Admiral Akbar, Snoke and the real Carrie Fisher from the dead; say that TL Jedi never happened because it was "a dream" and drag out Pando Calrisin from the nursing home and it wouldn't matter.
Former SW fans aren't just boycotting; WE'RE INDIFFERENT, WE NO LONGER CARE ABOUT star wars, WHICH IS A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE.

I always pictured Lando as being a smooth talking and suave ladies man type.
Hey mega Disney Corp has to make an extra $800M off the series every 2 yrs y’know. It’s how business is done even if they have to reinvent the whole storyline from scratch. Plus it’s a proven & effective way to reinforce their corrupt PC evils via the movies.
However I find that a lot of the youtube fan boy clips are fairly good.

I know, it's sick, twisted, and perverted; but that is exactly what the definition of a "pansexual" means. And that is intentionally what they turned Lando into because the people calling the shots are sick sexual deviants.
Needless to say, they've destroyed the star wars franchise by strangling it to death with their own filthy, PC, SJW hands.

And should have been. I can’t help but think of the South Park episode where they say that maybe the Chinese should have bought the SW franchise. I doubt they could have done worse.
Well, aside from maybe the Chinese being more overt in it promoting communism, but then again, Lucas pretty much already did that by basing the Rebels and Ewoks on the Vietcong, not to mention some EU stories that bashed capitalist institutions and the Prequel Trilogy actually bashing corporations by having them being the main bad guys (the second film even had them explicitly giving their names to the Separatists).
At this point, if Star Wars isn’t already a smoldering wreck, it soon will be. Nice going, Iger, Kennedy, Abrams, Johnson, and Lucas (yes, I hold him responsible for the mess Disney caused for the franchise, since, aside from the fact that he was the one who instigated the deal in the first place, he also was the one who specifically chose Kennedy to take over Lucasfilm despite her apparently hating Star Wars from the get go for being a “boy’s franchise”). You just destroyed a great cultural icon in your PC SJW quest. I hope you’re happy as you’re losing money from this. Isn’t there some way to fire Iger to fix Disney outright?
Unfortunately, even before the Disney takeover, Star Wars STILL promoted radical leftist views even in the original trilogy (Lucas has on the record stated the Rebels and Ewoks were the Vietcong and the Empire was America, and what’s worse is that unlike similar instances of him running his mouth, this bit actually IS backed up by his development notes, meaning this wasn’t simply him expressing historical revisionism this time around), and don’t get me started on the anti-capitalist messaging Lucas forced into the Prequel Trilogy. All Disney did was increasing it significantly to the point of overload.
But nonetheless, what Disney, Jon Kazdan, Kathleen Kennedy, and the like did to the franchise was far worse (although I do ultimately hold Lucas responsible for it, since the whole deal and hiring KK to replace him WAS his idea). Definitely destroyed Star Wars as a franchise.
He hated the character and the movies.
