A 12-year-old boy with autism is at risk of losing his two service ducks after officials in his Michigan town allegedly received complaints about the animals from neighbors.
Dylan Dyke, of Georgetown Township, keeps his two ducks, named Nibbles and Bill, in a pen behind the familys home, WOODTV.com reported.
These ducks are his everything, Jen Dyke, the boys mother, told the news outlet. Theyre his whole life.

What the hell would a neighbor have to complain about two ducks? Really? Where they crapping on other people’s property or breaking into houses to steal bread or corn? Something more going on here between the families. Having said that, what the hell is a service duck? Do they wear the little vest like service dogs do?
Autism is the new ADHD. Everybody has it.
We have a pair of ducks that have decided to live in our neighborhood, and are often seen walking around on the streets in classic suburbia. They do have one house that they consider to be “home”, but only by their own choice.
I am glad that our neighbors have not called to have them removed or poisoned, etc.
Seems harmless enough, as long as he is not insisting on taking them with him into stores and public buildings, etc.
There is a Far Side cartoon in here somewhere.
In all fairness, and I’m one that really hates HOA’s, Ducks are really dirty animals!
Why can’t he get a service dog? Much easier to clean up after and much easier to sue in court for.
In my opinion, it doesn’t matter whether the ducks are “service ducks” or just pets, and whether the kid has autism or not.
They have a couple of ducks on their own property that aren’t hurting anybody, so to keep them. they should be allowed to keep them.
“keeps his two ducks, named Nibbles and Bill, in a pen behind the familys home, “
They are kept on their own property, not wondering around elsewhere.
Yeah. It's a free ticket for acting out and causing disruptions. Where do they come from? When I was growing up there weren't any autistics. And there weren't any kids allergic to peanut butter. Now those types are everywhere. I never even heard of autism until I was in my 20s, and I don't think I ever met one until much later.
SERVICE ducks!! They used to be called PETS! SERVICE DUCKS!! OK...the kid likes the ducks....geesh ..women have made this country INSANE! I am a woman.
I don’t see why you don’t read the article you posted
Obviously you didn’t read the article
The absolute NERVE of some people, allowing a boy to go outdoors and have creatures for companions. It destroys the pristine, suburban environment outside! Signs and noises from children and creatures in the outside world are offensive. He should spend 10 hours a day in front of a computer or an Xbox playing with virtual ducks. It’s the same exact thing! And no one would have to put up with this crap. Who goes outside anymore anyhow? /sarc
Dude, read the article
It was probably the same type of "neighbor" that attacked Rand Paul.
>>Autism is the new ADHD. Everybody has it.
Yep.
A boy who is rambunctious has ADHD. A boy who is quiet is “on the Spectrum”.
But a boy who thinks he is a girl is perfectly normal.
See what they are doing?
Yeah, I didn’t :-) because I’m at work. I hate when other people do that so thanks for calling me out on it. I would be upset with duck crap all over my lawn too.
I do believe the service _________ thing has gotten completely loopy. They are PETS. Enough with the liberal mind games.
