Scotty Bowers ran a brothel out of a gas station and slept with dozens of Hollywoods biggest stars. Inside his Secret History of Hollywood and why we should believe his stories.
I went to bed with J. Edgar Hoover. He was in drag. He was not a great beauty either, you know, but I was treating him just like he was a girl
Several of the sex workers Bowers employed are also still alive, and Tyrnauer interviewed them for the documentary. They all verified Bowerss accounts, some on camera. One even still had an index card Bowers had made with the contact information of a dozen men who were interested in sexual services. A smoking gun, Tyrnauer calls it. One of the men on the card was still alive, and confirmed Bowers stories to Tyrnauer, too. All of this was in addition to the work a team of researchers did to fact check many of Bowers anecdotes.

I hope he had the honesty to include his own. Had a long affair with Grace Kelly while a married man.
Gene Pitney???
So, just curious, what did you understand, and what confusions were cleared up?
(I guess Romans seemed pretty straightforward to me, but nevermind)
This is true. I read his book many years ago I think.
Not a place to let your children work.
Alcohol reduces inhibition far more than pot.
Its because only now they are making a movie out of the book.
Is Rubio in there somewhere?
He didn’t squeal on Hillary because she’s still alive.
Sort of.
Cary Grant was a well-know homo; don’t know about Spencer Tracy.
John Wayne was not homosexual.
I read about Scotty Bowers in a Vanity Fair article several years ago. He tells great stories but whether their true or not is something else. Everyone he talked about was dead.
He claimed he slept with Spencer Tracy, could be true. Tracy was in fact Gay and was very conflicted about it. His son was born deaf and Tracy felt he was being punished by God. He would go on these awful drinking binges, checking into a hotel with cases of whiskey and drink like that for a week or two, He wrecked his health. Kathryn Hepburn was also Gay and at one point lived openly with another woman in the 1930’s in Hollywood. There never was any big romance between them.
As to other parts of Bowers story I just don’t believe all his stories. The only actor from that era that admitted being Gay and talked about it was Caesar Romero who gave an interview about it all and he never told the stories this guy has. I would say that a great deal of it is fantasy.
Romans would have seemed straight forward if your folks kept you in the word from your earliest days—so that your point of view would have always been christ crucified.
my upbringing was much more hit and miss in this regard. so christ would have often been either a (gentile—ie pagan)stumbling block or (jewish—ie rules based)foolishness.
I’m 65 years old now. the class I took was more than 20 years ago. so I’m long separated from the confusions I had when I was younger. So I couldn’t tell you the details
Hollywood never has been a normal place it’s a do as you please and never tell and you can keep working note late night TV programs not normal by any standards.
A bunch of dead stars and politicians. How convenient.
Yeah, I really believe it.
Gore Vidal, like most gays in show business, was a vicious gossip. He was going around at the end of his life claiming that parts of the script of Ben Hur (to which he contributed) were being made obviously homo-erotic and that Charlton Heston was too stupid to pick up on it. He said it right at the point when Heston was being beaten up in the press for his brave fight against filthy song lyrics and support of the NRA. You simply can’t believe gays.
Ah ... I was involved with Campus Crusade & EE in college, back when, and they had a very strong emphasis on Christ’s sacrifice vs works, so yeah. I can see where you’d be coming from there.
Glad you eventually discovered the Gospel, there’s so many who preach something ... else these days.
just wonderin'
Yeah, that’s who. I had just never heard any rumors or suggestions about him.
Interesting mention of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson...
