Presidential candidate Donald Trump is heard on tape discussing with his attorney Michael Cohen how they would buy the rights to a Playboy model's story about an alleged affair Trump had with her years earlier, according to the audio recording of the conversation aired exclusively on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time." The recording offers the public a glimpse at the confidential discussions between Trump and Cohen, and it confirms the man who now occupies the Oval Office had contemporaneous knowledge of a proposal to buy the rights to the story of Karen McDougal, a woman who has alleged she had an extramarital affair with Trump about a decade ago. Cohen told Trump about his plans to set up a company and finance the purchase of the rights from American Media, which publishes the National Enquirer.

So, there’s audio evidence of Daniels and MacDougal’s successful extortion of Trump for money over CONSENSUAL RELATIONSHIPS and this is supposed to somehow hurt Trump? If this was David Letterman, Daniels and MacDougal would have already been arrested for criminal extortion.

I have a feeling this is more leak crushing. First, how did anyone know that Cohen had a recording, unless he kept it on his phone? It’s been 1 1/2 years, and he didn’t upgrade his phone? Or he saved it on his computer?
Then Cohen’s lawyer releases it to CNN, which is clearly a violation of privilege, and the lawyer would clearly know this. There’s more to this than meets the eye.
I have a strong suspicion David Brock and Gloria Allred offered these women money first.
if Trump was in New York, then the tape was probably legal, but if Trump was in Florida, then Cohen broke the law.
The special master flagged this and the 11 other tapes as privileged. However, I read that the Trump legal team waived privilege on all of them. So that tells you there is nothing much there. It will give CNN 5 straight days of programming material though, for their 700k viewers.
He is discussing buying rights to the story. Not discussing how his wife will launch personal attacks on the credibility of the woman. Not even in the same league as Bill Clinton.
