Ga. lawmaker urged to resign after using racial slurs, dropping pants in TV show (Sasha Baron Cohen)

Georgia House Speaker David Ralston demanded that state Rep. Jason Spencer resign after he yelled racial slurs and exposed himself in an episode of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Showtime series that aired late Sunday.

Spencer dropped his pants and repeatedly used the n-word in the episode of “Who Is America?” Spencer had earlier threatened legal action to prevent the network from airing footage of him.

In a statement shortly after the episode aired, Ralston said Spencer’s actions and language in the video are “reprehensible.”

“Representative Spencer has disgraced himself and should resign immediately,” said Ralston. “Georgia is better than this.”

Other Republican leaders also swiftly condemned Spencer. Secretary of State Brian Kemp removed the lawmaker from his list of endorsements ahead of Tuesday’s GOP runoff for governor and urged him to apologize. And Gov. Nathan Deal called his language “appalling and offensive.”

Georgia is also heavily promoting video game, television, and movie production in the state. I’ve seen many programs and video games that display the “Made in Georgia” slogan and peach logo in the credits.

I think the Netflix show “Stranger Things” is filmed at least in part in Georgia.

If they are building a little Hollywood, don’t be surprised if California liberal types start descending on the state.

Social rules for an era matter. Only the stupid politicians will flaunt those that are uniquely important.

That said, the “n” word truly does have a history of intent to demean.

So, it’s not just about social rules that are important. For me, it also involves my Christianity. It is wrong for me to demean another human just because of their race.

“For me, it also involves my Christianity. It is wrong for me to demean another human just because of their race.”

That is an interesting comment.

Are there legitimate reasons (non-racial) to demean another human being?

No one should use it.

For over 40 years, I avoided using the word, and then along came obama.

He made such an issue about race and all of his half brothers claimed an 'exclusive right' to use the word, that I began quoting famous black leaders.

Malik Zulu Shabazz, then President of the New Black Panthers said, "Michelle should kick that nigger out".

There is no exclusive right to use any word, and when famous blacks stop using it, I'll stop quoting them.

Until then, they can kiss my dago butt.

Tons. Almost all of which deal with that humans chosen behaviors and refusal to repent of those behaviors.

hitler was an evil man who truly deserves to roast in hell (even more than all of us do). Was it because he was Austrian? no. was it because he was white? no. It was because he unrepentedly was responsible for killing millions of people.

A unrepented murder deserves to be demeaned. If he acts like an animal then he should be treated as an animal.

I can add sexual perverts, socialists, most liberals etc to the list of people who should be demeaned. Because they willingly and unrepentedly chose to commit evil.

“Spencer dropped his pants and repeatedly used the n-word in the episode of “Who Is America?” Spencer had earlier threatened legal action to prevent the network from airing footage of him.”

Up until that point, I’m guessing that Mr. Spencer signed all the proper documentation to provide Showtime the rights to the video.

Victim? I don’t think so anyone who would do this is unfit for office. Any politician who doesn’t understand that was improper behavior under any condition of situation.

And Dekalb, Rockdale and Newton

They already are invading. I was with the railroad police and got a call, a while back from Rockdale SO. Folks were on the tracks, taking pictures. All four were nice guys. All movie folks. 3 of the 4 were moving to the Rockdale/Newton area, since so much filming takes place in Monroe/Newtown/Conyers. Said lots of folks were getting ready to pack.

Newton Cty has 3 or 4 Ring Studios being built. Gaming, tv, video, movies.

Best part of all of it, given the fact that the industry is so liberal, they’re all moving here because it’s cheaper. They don’t have to pay the union wages or work per the union contracts. Yet, another shining example of their hypocrisy. Good enough for thee, but not for me. Nothing more than taking advantage of the cheaper labor, in lieu of having to pay more. No different than exploiting the illegals they purport to love so much. I’d love to see Georgia shift from a Right to Work State to a Unionized one, just for a year or two. Watch all the “I love Everyone, Workers of the World Unite Media/Movie types” bail out like the place was on fire, from Sherman.

Sticks and stones. It’s just a word.

Dropping his pants should be what’s unacceptable.

If they are building a little Hollywood, don’t be surprised if California liberal types start descending on the state.

That is a huge problem. Even without them actually moving in, legislation to protect religious freedom is shot down because the NFL and Hollywood don't like it, and there is no shortage of Republicans in this state who like money more than values.
