" Clark Gable was the real deal."
Carole's demise hit him pretty hard.

He would have looked good in anything (or nothing). Oops!
Mrs. L agrees.

I’ll always think that Gregory Peck was the most handsome of the old stars. I think he was exempted from service due to an old injury, though.

“Ill always think that Gregory Peck was the most handsome of the old stars.”
He turned out to be a prick despite “12 o’clock High”.

I think almost all men become more attractive as they get older.

Afterward, the crew noticed the fifteen holes in the aircraft, and Gable noticed his boot. Brushing off concern with reporters, Gable claimed, "I didn't know it had happened. I didn't know anything about it until we had dropped eleven thousand feet, and could get off oxygen and look around. Only then did I see the hole in the turret."He should just said "I don't give a damn".

Well, almost none of them are really like the roles they play. (Maybe John Wayne was ;-)
I don’t pay them for who they are, I pay for what they pretend to be.

My mother-in-law loved Gable. Years ago, I saw in the paper that a pair of his khaki slacks had fetched $80 at an auction. She took offence when I told her she could have gotten his pants for 80 bucks. She thought I said that she could have got in his pants.

And Jimmy Stewart was certainly the real deal. The stories of him flying combat missions called for some real stones.Flying an unarmed B-24 formation ship over the european mainland to fill out a box was something else.A mans man for sure.
