There is no way that POTUS, Trump could have made the alleged mistake at the Helsinki Press Conference with President Putin of the Russian Federation. What he has done, is to setup his Democrat & Media buffoons for a major political fall, with information passed onto to him by Vladmir Putin. Of course the Democrats and their lock-step media fell for it 100%.
Today, Trump reworded his delivery from yesterday to a more favorable position for him. But, there is more to come. I believe, although I have no proof whatsoever, that Putin has fed Trump "Dynamite Facts" that lead through to the Democrat Party, The DOJ, The FBI, The Media, Obama/Clinton and all the usual Democrat and Republican Never Trumper suspects enmasse. Include Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Schumer, Pelosi, Corker, McCain, Sasse, Obama, Clinton, and tons of other Democrats, Left-Wingers, Progressive and Hate America, Low Life.
POTUS, Trump does what any smart warrior does and, plans his fatal political attacks when it best suits him and his purposes. Standby, folks, the Trump game is barely afoot. This activity while it seems on its face to be damaging to POTUS, Trump. It isn't!!! Trump clearly sees the negative polling for Senators, Menendez and the Democrat Senate Candidate running in Tennessee. Tons of Democrat Senators are not all they are cracked up to be. I can assure the current Democrat Party, the evening of election day on November 6th, 2018 will not be one of great joy nor, political success.

No, he corrected an omission. The corrected statement is what he intended to say.
Years ago I sat in on a Business Writing course a young woman I knew was taking. The instructor related how he had written a letter addressing an import business matter. He discovered only later that he had forgotten a NOT, which completely inverted the sense of what he intended to say.
It is not uncommon for people in the flow of speaking to alter their syntax or logic sense and somethings create utterances that are at odds with they intended to say.
Trump was not "backtracking" as I've heard local media MISREPRESENT. They lie.

I saw the video of President Trump’s clarification on the Trump TV Network. First the President was speaking and the lights went out. It was probably some media jerk, but it was weird to say the least.
To start, I did not need a clarification. Nations have been interfering for years! First, Obama Administration interfered in Israel’s election! Second, today it was reported that China may have interfered in the 2016 election! Third, no officials with our government have seen the DNC servers! So we just do not have the proof. The RR presser revealed only that Russians used a phishing technique. Bad actors phish for any number of reasons! Then we have Germany is wanting to make an energy deal with Russia! A nation wouldn’t be making this deal if Russia was REALLY an enemy! Finally, I think we need to review all policy that was made in the last 8 years, i.e. the Magnitsky Act! There is a purpose to making Russia a scapegoat and we need find out why.

Yeah, there is no way the Russians tried to control only one party. Too much risk if their plan failed. Fact of the matter, the illegal alien issue is a pet issue of Putin who with Assad purposefully bombed more civilians than IsIS ever did creating the current Euro migrant crisis
