The Red Sox head into their All-Star break with what else: another win.
Their 5-2 victory over the Blue Jays gives them a 68-30 record and a comfy cushion for them to enjoy a four-day lull before reuniting for the Tigers series that begins Friday in Detroit.
Making the day even sweeter, the Yankees lost in Cleveland, meaning the Sox' lead in the AL East is at its largest margin (4.5 games) all season, including in late April, when the Red Sox held a 19-5 record.

I don’t mind seeing the Red Sox win, but the owner though is apparently a real limousine socialist.
He wants to take Yawkey’s name off the lane next to Fenway (”racism”).
The Indians lead the weak Central Division, but they’re mediocre. Will be eliminated in the Division Series.
And my Nats are struggling, too.
The Yankees and Red Sox are both having great seasons.
One will win the division, and the other will go to the wild card game, the one game playoff , with winner moving on to the division series.
Odds are, whichever goes to the wild card game, will have a much better record than most other division winners.
I think the A’s are going to get the second Wild Card over Seattle. They are quietly having a pretty good season.
Nats are going to have to go on a real run to win 90. Braves and Phillies have really out played them so far. I have never seen so much bone-headedness running the bases than this team.

The Blue Jays are a disaster this year.
At least they aren’t the Orioles. Holy crap, 39.5 games back at the break.

4-1/2 games up over the Yankees at the All-Star break - they are scorching!
Yawkey Way no longer exists.
.
Chill.
So they did it.
I see on wikipedia it became official May 3rd.
And yet they just took the series from the sad-sack Rangers, and their .187 career-hitter, Joey Gallo.
Last year Gallo had the fewest RBIs ever with 40+ HRs. (41 HRs, 80 RBIs).
Gallo also the lowest ratio of RBIs to HRs for 40+ HR. (Barry Bonds next lowest with a 45-90).
Rangers need to be blown-up.
Good luck with all that with Daniels getting his extension, but he did his job, he got the owners a brand-new stadium.
I was at today’s game. My first at Fenway. I sat back and soaked it all in.
Bogey’s homer (second batter) set the stage for a really good game.
The city has already changed it back to Jersey Street which was the original name.
Too bad Lord Jersey owned slaves.
