THROGS NECK, the Bronx A man was critically injured outside his Bronx home in what police sources said on Friday is an attempted mob attack.
It happened at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the vicinity of Tierney Place and Locus Point Drive in Throgs Neck.
Video surveillance shows a man firing several shots at a 41-year-old man before fleeing the scene inside a red four-door sedan.
The victim, who police sources identified as Bonnano Associate Salvatore Zottola, suffered several gunshot wounds to his torso, his left hand and graze wounds to his head.

Was he buying oranges?
The gunfire prolly activated an automatic Amazon order for more ammo.
Jeez...they sure dont make hit men like they used to make them. Its Amateur Hour now.
Props to the intended target for his active rolling which helped prevent the amateur assassin from having an easy shot.
it wasn’t a mob hit- the man was this fella’s doctor and he was just trying to cure the fella of psoriasis
I think the shooting was a result of a disagreement over a shipment of Bonnano’s bananas. Or maybe the Bonnano associate went bananas and had to be taken out.
Is that some kind of Sicilian rash that he had?
Stop, Drop and Roll maggot! He learned well.
Seriously though, I know it's movie but I still grimace when I see that scene.
After living there awhile one figured stuff out. A friend of a friend knew a great Italian restaurant. So we drive, end up going through a huge warehouse district east of NYC and then this huge white restaurant just appears among all of the warehouses. Had huge white columns going up a couple of stories all around it supporting the eaves.
It was lunch time, and the parking lot was empty except for three or four limos on the back corner.
The huge place was empty, and they seat us in our own separate room. We had a five course meal for lunch - paid for by the friend!
I didn't say anything to anybody, but I had a slight suspicion that it might somehow be tied to the mob. Just perhaps!
So did you order the veal? I think I’d have gone with gnocci.
Here in Maryland, when I was working in a 7-11 store, a guy who was obviously a Mafia member came in. I figured he was not going to mess with a young store clerk, and treated him just like any other customer.
The moment he left, a regular customer came in, all breathless and excited. “Oh my gosh,” he said. “Did you see that guy? Weren’t you scared?”
No, I was not scared. The Mafia does big crime. They aren’t going to get themselves arrested for shoplifting or robbing $20 from a 7-11.
I was so pleased to know they were still around! I thought they were all dead and buried.
Don’t forget the cannoli.

“Jeez...they sure dont make hit men like they used to make them. Its Amateur Hour now.”
Some gray haired distinguished looking gentleman is not amused. Something tells me there will be another hit in a few weeks.
Wow, that was the most gruesome FORD commercial I’ve ever seen..........What were they thinking?
