A waitress required 15 stitches after she was attacked by four women she served Tuesday night at a Henry County Applebee’s.
The women beat and punched the waitress and stabbed her in the forearm with a steak knife, McDonough police Maj. Kyle Helgerson told AJC.com. They allegedly took her tips before they skipped out on a $62.57 bill.
Helgerson said it all started when the women were having dinner at the Industrial Boulevard location in McDonough, and one of the diners was sitting with her leg out in an aisle.
“The waitress had brushed up against her leg,” Helgerson said. “There was an initial conversation about that.”
The waitress, who is in her 20s, reportedly apologized to the woman, claiming it was an accident. After the table complained about not receiving their food, the waitress went to the kitchen to retrieve it, according to a police report.
“She came back a second time to serve them with food or drinks and brushed up against (the woman) again,” Helgerson said. “That infuriated the suspect.”

If you leave a good tip then giving it in cash will help because they do not have to declare it on the taxes. Even though they will have to pay taxes on a percentage of their total tickets they can sort of pocket the rest.

My wife and I once watched a Spanish speaking family leave their table and they took tips from two tables as they passed them. I now always give our waiter/waitress their tips directly as I always over-tip and do not want low-life thieves stealing the hard-earned money from the wait staff.

Well said, and worth repeating. And it’s also worth noting that most victims of black violence are themselves black. So I sure wish some folks wouldn’t make this a black vs. white thing. Because it’s really an animal vs. a civilized person thing.

When you skip out on your bill and steal the tip money, you have enough to buy the finer things in life.
I’m surprised that Spanish speakers would do that, because a lot of Spanish speakers work in restaurants and know how hard people have to work for their tips. But congratulations to you for tipping well!
I always think big tipping is a cheap ticket to heaven, because you’re not giving it to a bum on the street who will either drink it or put it into his veins, but you’re rewarding somebody who is working hard, taking a lot of abuse, but still doing a good job. So blessings on you!
I am not rich by any means but I have a nice home, food on the table, and my bills are paid. God has blessed me for some reason and I know wait staff work really hard and have to deal with some harsh people, so as long as they do their job I tip well.
The really good thing is so many I have come in contact with over the past years are always so pleasant that I make sure to tip really well. I always hope to make their day and also make up a little bit for those people who leave a few coins.
From what I see on tv, ladies like that are usually brain surgeons or CEOs.
