Cop Says Burger King Is Showing Off Wrong Surveillance After Tampering With Food

The Florida police officer denies Burger King's claim that he mistook spice mix for dirt.

Fort Myers, FL – A Fort Myers police officer, whose social media post about Burger King employees putting dirt in his food went viral, is fighting back against the restaurant owner’s claims that the officer had mistaken seasoning for dirt.

“I did agree that the video they showed me had no malicious activity, but it wasn’t my sandwich, Fort Myers Police Officer Tim McCormick said on Tuesday, according to The Whiskey Patriots.

Officer McCormick posted a photo of his drive-thru order receipt with the word “POLICE” typed on it to Facebook on July 3.

The officer explained that, after he stopped by the Fort Myers Burger King restaurant on Cleveland Avenue for a quick bite to eat, he noticed a gritty texture in his food.

“At first I thought it was just burned old bacon. I was hungry and ate the burger,” Officer McCormick explained. “At the last bite I saw dirt and grit on the burger. In disgust, I threw it out of the window.”

The officer grabbed his receipt, and realized it was specifically marked as an order for “POLICE.”

He promptly returned to the restaurant and went inside with the intent of speaking with the manager.

According to the post, a female staff member in the drive thru spotted him and asked, “What the matter officer? Something wrong with your order?”

The staff member and other employees then burst into laughter, Officer McCormick recounted.

The officer explained the situation to the manager, but said he received little support.

I had to deal with an illness/death in the family, and hit a couple of burger joints during the process. Haven't personally gone to any since maybe 2001 or so, just out of personal lifestyle choice.

I was disgusted by the level of service I've encountered at Wendy's, BK, and McDs. None got my order right.

On the way back from the funeral, I have to say that Dunkin' Donuts was the most pleasant and accurate in two different states.

Better to admit it’s dirt, and not the seasoning...

If this BK used “seasoning”, like salt and pepper, it would run counter to my experience as a fast food owner since many people no longer routinely use salt. At BK frozen patties are fed into gas fired Nieco chain broilers where they emerge onto a holding tray, placed on the dressed out bun and then wrapped. And if the order was placed “with everything” a computer generated build to amount of pre-made burgers would be staged in the heated pass through. This means a sabotaged burger would have to have been specially made.

In 1973, we lived in an area of Dallas which had once been a nice upper middle class neighborhood. It was beginning to decline into a sort of Hippie area.

My wife and I tried a new hamburger place called “Wendys”. We thought it was about the best hamburgers we had tried. Every time we ate there we noticed strange looking guys.

We finally decided that Wendys must be a homosexual hamburger joint. Of course we later realized it was a chain.

Can’t help but ask.
You’ve got a Blake’s nearby and
you stopped at a Burger King?
Just kidding with you. ;)

I assume you’re talking to the cop, because I don’t have a clue what a Blake’s is...

You replied to the wrong guy, but I agree, Blake’s is better. Heck, there is even a Wendy’s just up the street. I ate at that BK once. Awful. Now it shares it’s parking lot with a closed gas station. Just looks nasty.

In my neck of the woods it is assumed that any black fast food worker will adulterate a white person’s order if not being closely watched.

My apologies for the incorrect post.
I remember, long before Rio Rancho
grew to Bernalillo, the only thing
out there was KFC.

It is accepted here in urban Houston that blacks will adulterate a white persons food as policy.

We dont get fast food anymore except for Chik.
