Is using win7 the reason why I cannot get any live streaming from UTube and other sites?
Probably not -- I use Win7 and stream from YouTube successfully. I'm fairly new to live-streaming, so I can't really speak to that with authority.
You might check which browser you're using -- I've found Chrome to be best at dealing with Google-related services (no surprise there!).
