A Republic runs by the Rule of Law. It is equal for all and if people don’t like it, they go through the process of changing the law.
An Oligarchy runs by the Rule of Men. They make their choices, they make selective decisions about who will benefit and who will be punished. And if people don’t like it they can go pound sand.
