It did have a great musical score by Henry Mancini. And who cares if it isn't an "honest portrayal of New York"? It's a movie. Movies are heightened reality, or romantic reality, not "real" reality.

Yes...loved Audrey’s rendition of Moon River.

The cast was also all-star.....Mickey Rooney, Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Mel Blanc....and on and on.

IIRC, Mancini said his all time favorite version of “Moon River” was the one Audrey sings in the film.
And yes, it IS a great film score!
