IIRC, Mancini said his all time favorite version of “Moon River” was the one Audrey sings in the film.
And yes, it IS a great film score!
I've always been partial to Andy Williams' rendition of the song; but my favorite version is Mancini's orchestral version that opens and closes the film. About the only thing in the movie that does not work for me is Mickey Rooney's Mr. Yunioshi.
