I’ve got a 20 pound, all black male cat that looks like that from about 10-15 yards away. Or this is a black cougar from 100 yards away... There is no real frame of reference in that photo. Color me skeptical. Not black.

This kitty is supposed to be a panther? Unless those dead shrub branches are sequoias this is nothing more than a house cat. The body shape doesn’t match a large cat’s either.

That’s a house cat, there are no melanistic Mountain Lions, not now not ever. The Jagarundi of the south west can be melanistic and even the lowly Bob Cat but no Mountain Lions.
