Ginsburg would have to resign or pass away within the next two years, also assuming we keep the senate. Trump won by a mere handful of votes spread vey thin across multiple states, and a repeat in 2020 is by no means guaranteed. If the votes cast for Harambe the Gorilla had gone to Clinton, she'd be president. The dems won't be so lax next time around and I'm afraid there's nothing we can do about it. 2016 was truly a perfect storm.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll hold the senate this fall, but Ginsberg, despite looking like a mummified corn husk wrapped in a shawl, may very well stay in the game for several more years. She nods off to sleep at odd times and has had health issues, but she's currently stable by all appearances and her mind is still sharp. She sure isn't going to resign with Trump in the Oval Office.

IOW, there is very good reason to believe that this will be Trump's last SCOTUS pick. I've been ambivalent about Barrett on account of her limited record, but 46 years old sounds pretty good right now.
