I first read this as "Lezbo Alert" and assumed that was the 'offensive' thing.

My first wife was a gemologist/jeweler/buyer for jewelry stores. They had all kinds of problems with gypsies, nationwide. They were warned to not try to stop them from robbing you since they’d likely kill you. This was 30 years ago.

Gypsies are the lowest of the low. They are born and bred to crime. I believe it is actually in their DNA. They can't be reformed. The best thing to do with a gypsy is to expel it from the country. There is no such thing as a "normal" gypsy.

According to Wikipedia, "jewel" originates in the Latin word for "play" ... jocus (joke) ... which became jeu in France. I suppose the connection is that people (and animals) play with sparkly things that have no survival utility.

There is no connection to "Jew."

This is the same. Gypsy crimes is a perfect description.
