What is fascinating about fake news stories is how they follow a pattern.
Say immigration. Take a fact and then create an emotional analogy that while not accurate is so emotionally overpowering that it produces the desired anti-Trump message. For example separating illegal immigrants applying for asylum from their children is the equivalent of separating mothers from their children at Nazi death camps.
In this case, a Republican calling into question the racism of a Democrat must be shouted down with the image of rising McCarthyism tied to some science fiction concern about forced DNA testing.
So why can only Democrats play the race card?

Well, Daily Beast guys, you all need to watch one of those 1950s noir movies in which, when the bad guy is disgraced will be humiliated publicly, he goes down the dark hallway with a friend, to a black room. The friend goes in, turns on the light. Together, they find a simple desk and chair and nothing else. The guy goes in, sits and says a simple like like. “I’ll see you after.” The friend closes the door, and the disgraced guy pulls open the top left hand draw—it’s always the top left-hand drawer. He reaches in a pulls out a revolver. We cut to the friend in the hallway. Within a few moments, we hear a shot and the sound of a thud from the room. We pull back and THE END is superimposed. We know that she did not verify her ancestry by using DNA, public records, tribal records, or using any other credible resources. Had she done so, she would have made that proof public.
So, we know that she lied. She claimed an ancestry that she had not verified. Her lie paid off, probably beyond her dreams. It must have earned her millions of dollars.
A future DNA test cannot change any of the above.

If they're capable of imagining such a scenario there's a chance, albeit tiny, of a shift in their attitude. Not holding my breath on it, but it's about the only way I think I can possibly make a dent while remaining civil with them myself. Then, if they continue to rant and get in my face, the uncivil consequences will be on their heads.
