Now they say OP is paused for 10-20 hours because they used up all oxygen. Per Guardian link at top.
Did not expect to have a reason like that.
Rescuers leaving for night.
“used up all oxygen”

Something doesn’t sound right.

“Something doesnt sound right.”
You said it!
I recall hearing that oxygen was being produced at the site.
So what happened - and who’ll stop the rain?
“The ex-governor also pointed out that all the oxygen tanks which were previously placed at intervals along the rescue route in the cave from the forward command at Chamber 3 to the mound where the rest of the survivors are now sheltering have been used up and replacement oxygen tanks will be placed again.” http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/next-operation-bring-rest-safety-begin-10-20-hours-ex-governor-narongsak/
It was mentioned that there may be a hundred rescuers in the cave. The entire operation uses an enormous amount of O2.
That makes sense.
Steve on Agenda-Free TV reporting that activity has intensified in the last 30 minutes (around 8:30 a.m. Thai time).
Media ordered to leave the vicinity by 9 a.m. Thai time. Thai authorities have told media to stop taking any pictures during the rescue.
More rescue personnel are arriving at the cave site. [The Guardian website says that up to 90 divers are involved. Army medics have arrived at the site.]
What kind of tourist attraction? The passages have points so narrow that they are dangerous in themselves, and a diver wearing a tank can’t get through them. It is mystery to me how they got where they are. Apparently it is recommended not to go into the caves - even into the developed areas with paths and handrails, during monsoon season, because of the danger of flooding.
Good points.
I remember in Vietnam the monsoon would hit at almost the same time every day and being out in the boonies, we planned for it. The leader of their group should have known about the heavy rains coming.
Hmmm ...is that how it happened?
It has been a huge tourist attraction for many years.
All I know is what I read and that is was a tourist attraction of some sort.
My fiancé has a diver son over in Thailand. I wonder if he is assisting. He teaches scuba.
Tanks empty
