WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. A white man who challenged a black family's use of a private community's pool has not only resigned from the homeowner's association board he's also lost his job.
Sonoco announced Friday that Adam Bloom is no longer employed by the packaging and industrial products company, saying it doesn't condone discrimination of any kind, even if it happens outside its workplace.

Didn’t he know that you now MUST allow blacks/gays/lezzies/dickchoppers/muzzies/hispanics/peanut-allergy/ people to do ANYTHING at all that they want to do, and that you must not comment on the unfairness.
As a White, you have no rights at all.
Because another resident whom I presume he knew said she didnt recognize her. So he asked.
So do you continually insinuate Im racist because you presume Im white?
“”Ma’am, it’s my job as the pool chairman...”
You would think that people would have more consideration for their elected officials, especially those who seek higher office, and few elected positions are held in more high esteem than and HOA Pool Chairman.
And by the way, in NC, an employer can fire an employee for what ever reason they please.
I am only insinuating that the woman had a right to be in that pool.
The HR department in a company I worked for invited the entire company for milk and cookies on “Harvey Milk” day. That was disgusting and an affront to straight people. Nobody spoke up against it for fear of getting the ax.
“As a White, you have no rights at all.”
Was any person in this story denied their rights?
If so, who was denied their rights?
The pool isnt a right its reseved for the members of that community. Im sure one of the rules on the books in that community (because it is in mine) is not to give out the key card access to guests and an owner must be with guests at all times.
Asking for ID is not unreasonable.
Adam Bloom
You missed the entire point of the story, didn’t you... She was REFUSING to show it to him
Which rights did Adam Bloom lose?
Loss of liberty, loss of livelihood.
All without due process.
Its right there in the article.
the video clearly shows her showing the key card to Chairman Bloom.
“Loss of liberty, loss of livelihood.”
“All without due process.”
As read the story, Pool Chairman Bloom was not arrested and therefore did not lose his liberty.
As for his job, no one has a right to a job.
What rights did the black woman lose?
She wasnt kicked out of the pool.
Key cards are not ID - of course it was a key card to the pool. That doesnt mean she was an actual resident in the commmunity.
As I pointed out earlier the common rules are that key cards cannot be given to guests and a resident must accompany guests at all times.
I have not read the HOA bylaws but it likely contains the term “Peaceful Enjoyment.”
"...no one has a right to a job..."
“You feel that it reasonable he should lose his employment because a leftwinger in HR got their feathers ruffled?”
How exactly is the incident at the pool a left/right political issue?
“As I pointed out earlier the common rules are that key cards cannot be given to guests and a resident must accompany guests at all times.”
It does not appear that she was a person’s guest, but rather a member of the HOA.
Thats neither a right nor is it in the community pool rules, I guarantee.
But is seems you consider the right to peaceful enjoyment at a pool more important than employment and maintaining ones health insurance and not being homeless.
Oh, BTW, how do you guarantee the right to peaceful enjoyment at the pool and make sure only the community members use it so the pol isnt overcrowded on hot summer days by unattended guests?
