SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A parent is accusing a South Florida teacher of bullying her 5-year-old son in class.
Kandy Escotto said she originally felt like something was wrong after her son Aaron made troubling comments about his teacher at Banyan Elementary School.
He told me, Mommy, Im a bad boy,' Escotto said. I said, Aaron, why do you say that? and then he said, Thats what my teacher tells me when I dont do my work, so thats when I knew something was happening.
Escotto said she voiced her concerns to school officials numerous times, but she kept being ignored. She then decided to place a recording device in her sons backpack and recorded four days worth of Aarons classes.

Mom might be going away for awhile.
What a witch of a teacher.
For the life of me I don't understand why there are not cameras in every classroom.
There is nothing illegal about this
You dont know the law
Florida is a two-way consent state. She may be in trouble for this.
What?
That's a long time to be a teacher. Kids today aren't like they were in 1985. She's probably burned out. Time to retire.
BULLY I had a nun torture me on a daily basis. I got over it.
It would be illegal in MA.
.
A DA would “No bill” this because it would be impossible to get a jury to convict the mother of unlawfully recording.
Without consent of teacher, I think the recording would be inadmissible in court.
Perhaps she was driven around the bend by “bubbling.”
He circled the little fill-in pencil dots on a preprinted form test rather than filling them in.
You’re probably right. And I’d be just fine with that.
The child was given a “bubble test sheet” and you have to fill those out just right or else they don’t scan correctly
I’m shocked they doing this for 5 year olds we did not start using these till the 3rd grade when I was in school, and it was for the CTBS tests.

There are probably cameras in the hallway. When a teacher is a bully, the behavior doesnt stop at the classroom door.

Florida makes it a crime to intercept or record a “wire, oral, or electronic communication” in Florida, unless all parties to the communication consent. See Fla. Stat. ch. 934.03.
I believe this would be an oral communication under the law.
Bubble sheets are definitely not developmentally appropriate for five year olds.
