I do think First Lady Melania's ensemble is a tribute to 1950's America AKA America's Zenith and Golden Age.

I like the dress. It looks like she grabbed a tablecloth and wrapped it around herself and used a belt to hold it on. hahaha. But most folks looking at the dress will see gingham and think picnic. They don’t see luxury.
