A Massachusetts school for special needs children can continue to use a form of electric shock therapy on students after a long-running battle with state officials over the controversial treatment was decided in their favor.
The Judge Rotenberg Center in Canton is the only learning center in the country to use the graduated electronic decelerator to control the behavior of students with development delays.
The commonwealth had been trying since 2013 to ban the practice, but last week, Judge Katherine Fields, the first justice of the Bristol County Probate and Family Court, sided with the school.
The school did not respond to a request for comment, but instead directed ABC News to contact the JRC Parents Group, which said in a statement, No one loves our children more than we do; we have tried and continue to try everything available to them, including positive behavior therapies and medications to help our children, but as the Court found - there is no evidence that any alternative treatment would be effective to treat our children and keep them safe.

Yup - theyre a socialist state alright.
Cant own guns and well shock you until you behave properly because thats humane.
This is horrendous! I thought EST was long ago made a thing of the past.
This is not good.
But then again not surprising, since respect for life is also a thing of the past.
The brain, even the human body, is an electro-chemical organism. Applying low amperage devices in a controlled fashion may seem barbaric, but it is effective. Leeches were considered medieval but are making a resurgence due to their unique abilities.
And, like anything else, it can be done properly, and it can be abused... and some patients (or their loved ones) can be helpful and cooperative, and others want to allege any kind of abuse possible for a payday and for some virtue signaling and sympathy.
No it’s not and here is the student at the center of it all.
WARNING GRAPHIC!!!
DO NOT SEND YOU CHILD TO THE JUDGE ROTENBERG CENTER!!

Shock collars?
No doubt. Every tool in the doctor’s bag can be used to heal or to inflict unthinkable wounds. Just look at what Fentanyl can do. My wife takes it to treat Pancreatitis but the same dosage would kill someone that has never had it.

I will buy that answer however when you have people who are nothing more than mcdonald’s workers doing the job you get this!

These people were cruel and sadistic, what’s more they thought it was funny! In one part of this 8 hour and I mean 8 hours of this they were seen laughing at this kid!
stun guns
You vil vote socialist or ZAP!
The vid does appear damning but I had not watched all 8 hours of what occurred. The litmus would be to see what the kids behavior was prior to his time at the center and then after. Behavior is time-referenced and the court sided with the school, so their techniques and results have to be taken into consideration. There are myriad examples of people whose behavior would certainly warrant EST. I agree that it should be conducted by highly trained, certified professionals and not the average day care worker.
But gay conversion therapy is strictly forbidden.
“This is horrendous! I thought EST was long ago made a thing of the past.”
When you call it electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) instead, and get published by Big Media, it’s ok, especially because the subject isn’t DIRECTLY related to politics.

That’s not the whole 8 hours just the news story and a clip but you’ll get the picture. The McDoanlds workers liked their job a little too much.
I’ve done e-collar training in dogs and know one thing, if done right you should no longer need that e-collar. If staff is walking the halls with the remote for the shock device, which they are then they are doing something wrong. The children are not learning to quit the bad behavior only to fear the shock coming from the device. That is not teaching them anything.
Why not, schools make girls out of boys and visa versa
I agree - this doesn’t look like a very professional application of the tool. But there are very violent unpredictable people in the world, and what are you going to do to restrain them and try to change their behavior that someone isn’t going to consider to be torture? Giving them drugs? Physical restraint? Isolation?
The biggest problem I have with this video is it looks like a bunch of people who have no idea what they’re doing.
No one in the guberment has any idea of what they are doing.
On the other hand I can think of a lot of people that need to have a shock collar on.

Exactly! McDonald’s workers!
