Do you want to be friends with some of my fake facebook identities?
To: FrankR
I post on FB, but I only post pictures of my dogs, and I only look at pictures of dogs. I do not read news on FB at all.
I have about 10 friends only, and I ain’t looking for more, they are all people I know and have met in reality.

I never added any friends, though I get plenty of friend requests, mostly from people I never heard of, BUT have no problems on Facebook at all.
Your real issue might be something else, not the lack of adding friends. Check with facebook to try to find out what their real problem is with you.

Never have understood the need for "----book" at all! Why not just make a list of "friends" in address book, exchange emails, and share info? Why let a wannabe billionaire use your friendships in order to fill his/her coffers?
Just a created hi-tech gossip platform which has created controversy, destroyed family relationships and friendships, as well as facilitated political and cultural coarsening.

I’ve had that happen to me a couple of times over the past year and all I did was either click on the Home button at the top or quit and restart my browser and the problem went away.

Never joined Facebook or Twitter, or any of the other social media sites. This is the only site I need if I want to interact with people. If I want to talk to my kids or any of my very small number of long-time friends and family, I’ll call them or email them, and they’ll do the same with me. I think I had my fill of being social when AOL came into existence. After 3-4 years I got sick of it, and ended my membership. Never bought into the MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. BS.

I have found the newsfeed to be worthless. I come here for all my news.
Only reason I am on FB is because of family and friends who live out of state.

Check out Me-We. Nice alternative to Fakebook, they explicitly state they do NOT spy or collect your information (yeah, right...) their interface is pretty nice, easy to use and not cluttered with left-wing Mark Suckerberg propaganda.
Good luck!

I have been on FB for years. That is how I keep up with family and school friends from the 1950s. I also belong to several groups which have pictures of Cades Cove, Yellowstone, WY, MT, etc. I really enjoyed the snow scenes from Cades Cove. I also belong to several castle groups. Eileen Donan is one built by ancestors. My grandson went there a few years ago but was more impressed by the Lamborghini in the parking lot. FB is what the user makes it. If I get a post I am not interested in, I hide it.

Suggestions appreciated, and sorry about the vanity - I don't do it very often...only a handful of times in I joined FR in 1998. Hello class of '98!! We're "FR Orginalists"
Not sure I've ever seen you around before. We're getting to be extinct around here.

I use FB and Instagram as a way to keep up with my children and grandchildren via photos and videos. Im asking for a cloud picture frame for Christmas so they can upload pics directly to the frame and I can delete FB and Instagram.

Hit “refresh”. That helps.
I have sent them several notes telling them exactly what you said. I have all the “friends” I want, and who is Facebook to demand I get more?

Their site, their rules.
If you find yourself ad odds with both the Facebook management and staff decisions and do want to venture further into activities that will add friends to your status, then perhaps it's best that you not participate at all. I despise many or virtually all of Facebook's decisions regarding their editorial slant--yes, they do have one--but I enjoy finding people who think as I do and want to visit with me regarding issues.

I got on FB to keep up with my nieces and nephews. I have various “pages” I have liked - Rush Limbaugh, Judicial Watch, Franklin Graham, some crochet/knitting pages, DietDoctor (low carb) ...... (you get the picture).
To keep from getting all the FB CRAP, I have installed Facebook Purity (link: https://www.fbpurity.com/ ). Facebook, for me, would not be tolerable, without it.
Using FB Purity, in my newsfeed, I only see posts from my friends and the pages I have “liked”.
I only have 24 friends (far fewer than your 54) and have not gotten the message that my newsfeed is restricted. Try FB Purity & see if that doesn’t eliminate the cr@p messages. This will clean up your newsfeed (nothing from FB, just from your friends & any pages you’ve liked). No more ads, suggestions, etc. FB Purity is wonderful.

That’s a bug, means their feed is having troubles. If you’ve got an FB handler add on turn it off, those tend to exacerbate the problem. Or change your feed sort, sometimes that helps. Or just wait.

I did an “opus” on Facebook where I trashed Marky Zuckerberg personally and called him the world’s second most repellant Jew right behind the execrable Anthony Weiner. The general impetus was to get them to ban me rather than resign. It worked.

I recently had a voice mail on my land line phone from a fellow high school student who was a friend over 50+ years ago, begging me to call, email, message back as he has been searching for me for years. I checked his FB page. FB can be a lot like feedback on eBay. There is no way I would ever want to reconnect with someone so full of TDS, hatred of anything conservative or religious. I have my entire friends list on FB hidden. I have never posted a photo or a word on FB. I only use it to keep up with friends and relatives who use it.
To: FrankR
Fakebook sucks. I only keep it to keep in contact with former colleagues.
