sarah smackdown: huckabee sanders rips reporters over ’24 second news cycle

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders unloaded on reporters and the mainstream media this week, slamming the journalists for chasing a “24 second news cycle” and rushing to judgment without the facts. Sanders was speaking with C-SPAN Thursday when she called-out the White House press pool for prioritizing “being first” over “being right” in their coverage of the Trump administration. “I think there’s a real race often to be first instead of to be right, and I think that’s a dangerous place,” said the Press Secretary. “We used to have a 24-hour news cycle, now we’re running more like on a 24-second news cycle, and I think that’s a dangerous place because there’s not the same editorial process that stories go through before they go live.” “I think oftentimes people, reporters will use Twitter to comment on a story and they don’t realize that could be taken as news because they are a reporter,” she added. “And those are fast turnarounds, and there’s not an editorial process that those things go through.” h/t

"I think oftentimes people, reporters will use Twitter to comment on a story and they don't realize that could be taken as news because they are a reporter," she added. "And those are fast turnarounds, and there's not an editorial process that those things go through."

Sanders also told C-SPAN that she believes White House press briefings still "can be" useful. Her predecessor Sean Spicer has a different stance, recently telling the Washington Examiner that briefings are "not serving a constructive purpose anymore."

Sanders said, however, the briefings "have become more at times about trying to have a gotcha moment or a breakout moment maybe for a reporter rather than trying to get information."

She declined to identify specific camera-mugging journalists, saying, "I think everybody who's tuned in can figure that one out on their own."

Sanders is certainly referring to that self-serving media whore Jim Acosta as one of the media asshats.

Press Secretary is a tough job as it is and Press Secretaries rarely last two years before they resign.

I think is 10 times as tough working under this POTUS with this rabid, hostile, out of control press corps. Plus she has had deal with the hostile, out of control American People. I can’t believe she hasen’t resigned yet.

She is the best Press Secretary since Tony Snow (and that is saying something!) and, frankly his time was a cakewalk compared to the weaponized msm she is facing.

Close the doors and lock them out just once and watch their collective heads explode.

When someone makes a nuisance of themselves and detracts from whatever coverage the public is expecting, they need be banned from the floor. If they all walk out in support, well, bye.

It certainly doesn't help when the Establishment Media got stuck with the label fake news and they can't shake that reputation.

Why run this circus every day?

Put it down to Mon-Wed-Fri, and if that doesn’t bring
the return of some simple decorum, make it Tue-Thur,
and if that doesn’t do it, make it Friday LATE in the
afternoon — say, 5:30 pm.

And If THAT doesn’t do it, make them unscheduled — when
called and announced ONLY.

Starve the beast.

Maybe she relishes the challenge and enjoys kicking swamp creatures.

Not everyone thinks like a wimp.

“Rushing to judgment without the facts”. That’s called modern day journalism.

I remember the viscous press briefings during the Hussein years.

How can Obama continually be so perfect?
Why doesn’t Obama ever have any scandal?
How can Obama possibly be more admired than he already is ?
May we grovel before him please?

She’s too gentle with them, and too polite. They deserve scorn and derision.

You go girl!

BTW, these reporters know full well their tweets will be taken as hard news. They are fooling no one.

Since most of these clowns in the msm are all trying to hit a "home run" at these briefings, they should all have a "walk up" song that plays prior to their being called upon. They could play this for little Jimmy Acosta.

Every minute of a presidential press conference is an opportunity for the president’s press secretary to make a winning case on behalf of the president in the court of public opinion.

In the same way, every minute an attorney has to speak in a court of law on behalf of his or her client is an opportunity for him or her to further the client’s case.

During Sarah Sanders’s tenure as press secretary, Donald Trump’s approval ratings have gone continually upward.

At the same time, the fortunes of the liberal media, which has attacked Donald Trump and Sarah Sanders at every opportunity, have continually fallen. CNN can barely attract 700,000 viewers a day.

Sarah Sanders is not only doing an outstanding job, she’s also probably enjoying it, just as great attorneys enjoy taking on difficult cases.
