I read that Sony was very upset with his remarks and assured the readers that Fonda had a very minor roll in the movie and to remember to support the other actors in the it (Vera Farmiga, Christopher Plummer, Lewis MacDougall, Bobby Cannavale, Kristen Schaal, Christopher Lloyd, Dolly Wells).
It was only released in 5 theaters...but it won’t do well in any more, either. Unsure how that all works, but I”m thinking we’ll probably be seeing it on the Netflix list in a few weeks.
Neither Christopher Plummer or Christopher Lloyd needed this
embarrassing stumble in their lengthy portfolios. I actually didn’t know Lloyd was still alive. Sort of as with another actor;
Abe Vigoda. People thought Abe was dead at least 25 years before he passed away. He looked like death, just barely warmed over.
I am surprised and disappointed Christopher Plummer would be associated with a Turkey like this.
You notice how they implore the public to overlook fonda's despicable behavior and think of the others who are being harmed by his actions. Let that sink in for a bit. The last thing in the world they would ever do is call him into the office and say, "Pete, you F'd up. You're done here."
They haven't gotten a fraction of what they deserve.
it was only released in theaters so it would get Oscar consideration. this is basically a Netflix movie.
They lost more money by not pulling the movie than they would have had they pulled it.
Terrible business decision.
When/if it comes out in theaters, people need to stand outside of said theaters with signs showing exactly what he said, just in case people might not know.
