Sony Pictures released a film starring Peter Fonda this week, even after the actor went on an unhinged, sexist, disturbing rant against President Trumps family and members of his administration.
The film bombed at the box office as audiences and critics alike gave it a thumbs down.
The film, Boundaries, starring Fonda in a supporting role earned just over $30,000 since its release.
After it made headlines in Hollywood for the wrong reasons, Sony Pictures Classics Boundaries is off to a tepid start at the indie box office, as it opened on five screens this weekend. Directed by Shana Feste and starring Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer, the film has made $30,395 for a per screen average of $6,079.
The film has a 58-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

You notice how they implore the public to overlook fonda's despicable behavior and think of the others who are being harmed by his actions. Let that sink in for a bit. The last thing in the world they would ever do is call him into the office and say, "Pete, you F'd up. You're done here."
They haven't gotten a fraction of what they deserve.
it was only released in theaters so it would get Oscar consideration. this is basically a Netflix movie.
How far out of your mind do you have to be to make such vulgar, hurtful statements to The First Lady about her child?
His sister Jane may think it, but has enough brain left not to go all bestial. Peter has likely been in an ideological bubble for decades, and only hears certain views circulated as acceptable. He really needs some deep therapy, but it may be too late. The crazy is now baked in the cake.

Reminds me of the newspaper rep calling and trying to get us to resubscribe after we dropped it. Told her ‘why should I buy the paper to read yesterday’s news?’ She replied, “I gives people jobs”.
“It gives people jobs”
I don’t remember where I read it - even though I think it was just yesterday (old age setting in, I guess). Hell, it might have been on here somewhere....but I do remember reading that they did not condone his behavior at all. The movie was made and nearly in release...the damage was done. I don’t know what, if anything, they plan to do about it now...or if they *can* do anything about it.
I understand why Sony would want to distance themselves from him and I understand how they still want to try and make some $ off the movie - although it looks like that won’t be happening.
And whatever happened to Susan George, the actress?
Opened on a whopping five screens, huh?
LOL
With all the Chargers that have been destroyed in movies & The Dukes of Hazard, it’s a wonder there are any left...
Peter Fonda goes out as a total loser... Fitting.
Marvel seems to have stopped having its actors lobby for democrats and accuse republicans of being monsters, and they are making mega bucks.
Or the STD testing
Fonda doesn’t even know his own ‘boundaries’ yet feels he’s qualified to appear in a film of that name. But the latter is fake so it’s acceptable to someone out of touch with reality.
I hate to say this, but I think his last great movie was Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974). He had like an eight year run of some great B-class movies, and by the late 70s...he was mostly washed-up. The TV crowd didn’t even pick him up in the last thirty years.
Consequences, dear.
Fonda knew it sucked before the release — thus, ...
With the politics of Hollywood, Fonda's statement will pretty much guarantee the film multiple Oscars now.
Natalie’s line almost sounds like better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven. First, what she really thinks of country music, on another level maybe her spiritual state.
They lost more money by not pulling the movie than they would have had they pulled it.
Terrible business decision.
> They haven’t gotten a fraction of what they deserve.
They’ll get it. Now a brand new legion of people know that SONY Pictures = pedo-tolerant.
