I found FR in 1997 or so, when I was in the Army. I had a different handle then, but I don’t remember what it was. I mostly lurked but did post a bit now and again. I changed my name in 2005 to Terabitten when I got married.

I was reading the news at Drudge (it was New Year’s Eve and FrogDad was watching television), saw this link - got caught up in the commentary and sat crying. There really WERE people out there who felt the same as me.

A few days later someone pissed off Drudge and he removed the FR link. I would have missed what has been a huge part of my education and life had I not found it when I did.

Class of 98 here. It’s been a long, long time. Lurked first for much of that year and then joined. So infinitely glad I did; it was my haven for like minded people. Seems like yesterday, but it isn’t LOL. I’m a whole lot older, but like a vintage wine we have all aged gracefully. Here’s to fond memories.
