***The rule has passed 224 - 186 on resolution Rosenstein cough up the docs by July 6***

The New York Times says: The measure, though nonbinding, is intended to put Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, on notice that House lawmakers are serious about their demands...

"nonbinding"? As you say: very curious.

Congress has given up its powers of punishment. Contempt is just referred to the DOJ as a misdemeanor. The DOJ then declines to prosecute.

Congress cutting the budget of a renegade agency? What a laugh!

Can someone explain the point of a nonbinding resolution?

It sounds like Dad saying, “You’re grounded....... unless you really want to go somewhere.”
