A study that ranked all 50 states from “most patriotic” to “least patriotic” also found that, overall, red states were more patriotic than blue states (states were considered “red” or “blue” based on how they voted in the 2016 presidential election).

I don’t like the whole red state versus blue state thing as so many of our brothers are just outnumbered by the swamp cities.
Hmmmmm .... because only a moron like you would ask a question like that, but you should also know that the 5 states you mentioned add up to less than half that of California. And each of those states has very liberal, Democratic cities, that make up a very large part of the population, that do not vote for Republicans. The “RED” areas in those states are far less populated than the densely populated cities and surrounding suburbs of all the liberal hives. However, the fact that the President got that many votes in California shows, that there are still some deeply RED areas in that place.
A practical solution is supporting city rights, letting city dwellers pass all the taxes and restrictions they want want as long as it stays within city limits. If you sell a socialist enough rope they will hang themselves.
We need a war video game to practice city dweller containment. The name of it could be "The Turkey Shoot".
My state, WV, voted 68% for President Trump. The HIGHEST percentage in the nation, yet this “study” places it at #40 on its “patriotism” scale.

That Virginia should be ranked first in patriotism, and yet went for Hillary shows how crooked that election was. Then Gov. Terry McAuliffe was probably paid handsomely by the Clinton Foundation for letting felons vote and for extending voting hours in Democrat ghettos.

Three problem with letting specialists have their way is once their failed policies have rendered yet another place unlivable, they migrate out to the prosperous, well run areas. Then they are stupid enough to start advocating to implement their disastrous ideas all over again.

Strong military presences in Virginia. Even the Pentagon is in Virginia. Unfortunately, so is a lot of swamp creatures and their consuming bureaucracy.
Due to sheer numbers. Of course they’ll be more given the fact that roughly half of California went for Trump and that half is bigger than all the populations of the other states combined. Toss out all the Dem votes in the other states you mentioned, which is where the majority of the populations are and of course California is going to have more.
I wonder if that has more to do with the RINOs that took over NoVa. Love to claim their on the Right, stand for the pledge, hold their hands over their hearts, but coulnd’t bear to vote for Trump and go to bed in the fetal position every night, as their stranglehold, on that city, slips away.
