Facing a new wave of potentially dangerous threats, called for by a top Democratic lawmaker, legal and gun experts are calling on top Trump aides to get their concealed carry permit and back it up with a pistol.
"There are simply not enough police in D.C. or Virginia or Maryland to protect all Trump officials at their homes and when they go out to restaurants. Getting a concealed handgun permit would be helpful to protect themselves and their family,” said John R. Lott Jr., president of the influential Crime Prevention Research Center.
“High level officials in the Trump administration, especially if their faces are likely to be recognized by many in the public as a result of appearances on TV, might want to consider applying for a license to carry a concealed weapon in the District of Columbia, and/or other states they frequent, in view of the call by Rep. Maxine Waters for the public to ‘absolutely harass’ these officials in public places, and other recent events indicating the increased danger they are in,” added public interest law professor John Banzhaf.
And Emily Miller, who wrote a book about the difficult process getting a gun permit in “Emily Gets Her Gun,” tweeted, “Trump admin officials can get DC gun carry permits to defend themselves from the crazies who obey Maxine Walters.”
Recent legal decisions have lowered the hurdle for Washington residents to get a concealed carry permit but it can take a long time to get one, unlike in neighboring Virginia.
As a result, Banzhaf suggested Trump aides move now.

There are a number of Republican lawmakers that I wouldn’t trust with a firearm.
Let’s get national reciprocity passed now, this week. Or, at a minimum, since Congress oversees DC, pass law that says all state-issued CCW permits will be honored in DC, our nation’s capital.

The more competent ones should be deputized as U.S. Marshals, so they could arrest their harassers, rather than to have to rely on Local Law Enforcement around D.C. which is most likely to be leftist leaning and aligned with the harassers.
(OK, I’m not sure if that is legally possible, and if the real U.S. Marshals would be angered by it, but SOMETHING needs to be done about this situation)
Definitely recommend this. Obtain the permit, spend several days a week at the range with accuracy and being comfortable with the weapon.
If and when the time comes that it is needed, do not hesitate or show the weapon as a threat. Center mass all the time.
Better yet revoke Home Rule of DC entirely. They’ve more than amply demonstrates they’re incapable of competent governance.

It could take a while. Start with Ryan and McConnell, the entire AZ Senate delegation adn Martha McSally. Anybody in SC feel comfortable going shooting with Lindsey Graham? Anyone in AK want to go hunting with Murkowski?

I know your heart is in the right place.
It's just that your calling for people to obtain some sort of governmental permission slip-- for which one has to fork over a payment to a government official-- in order to exercise a Constitutional Right is Just Wrong.
We have to get away from the idea that we have to bribe an official to get a note that says "yes, you're allowed to do that thing which the Constitution says I cannot forbid".

That’s how Diane Finestein (America, turn them all in!) got her nationwide carry permit. You see, a Senator’s life is special, a whole lot more special than yours.

Well, most politicians have proved to be totally irresponsible with the 2nd Amendment so...
There are a number of Republican lawmakers that I wouldn't trust with the Constitution.
Get a gun but don’t go out to eat. The food will be spit in and worse.
Mad Maxine Waters should be impeached and removed by the House of Representatives. No doubt she violated a number of House rules with her statements.
Be a Bush! Hide in your homes!
