The duchess was just two-years-old and her sister Pippa was eight-months-old when their parents decided to upticks and move to Amman in May 1984.
As a manager for British Airways at the time, Kates father Michael Middleton jumped at an opportunity to work for the company in the Jordanian capital.
There Kate would spend more than two years in the Middle East from the age of two to four-years-old, where she attended an English-speaking Al Saheera nursery.
Here she would pick up the countrys language before learning her own mother tongue.
Mr Middleton continued to work for BA and Carole Middleton embraced herself in village life, where she noticed a gap in the market during childrens parties.
Business-savvy Mrs Middleton started selling party bags to busy mum and by 1987 her mail-order business Party Pieces was born - the same year as their third child and son James.

As far as I can tell, Kate seems fine. But the British Royals seem to have totally sold out in odd ways to the Islamic world. I don’t picture Charles as head of the Church of England. He seems more comfortable in a mosque. It’s all weird.
Puffery
If she arrived there at age 2 she knew “ her mother tongue’
“
And dont tell us the household spoke only arabic for 2 years
Whats with this royals crap we kicked them out over 200 years ago.
A child her age would absorb a second language easily.
.
This is a British article about the British and the Jordanians. Is this somehow perceived as an attack on the US by you somehow?
No. The FReeper who post this posted 2, in a couple of minutes specifically about the royals. Royals mean squat. They have no power there and shouldnt concern Americans at all.
She didn’t know English before two? I call bullshit.
While they don’t have actual power, don’t pretend as though they are meaningless.
What about all the celebrity posts?
Food eating contests?
Weird news?

Her family is English-speaking, and she went to English-language daycare. It’s likely they had some Arabic-speaking household staff, so the children probably picked up Arabic greetings and basic requests.
Royals are just so much supermarket tabloid tripe. Enjoy it if you like
That’ll make it easier for her when the muzzies take power.
So we are to believe that at age 2 1/2 Kate could still not utter one word of English or any other language until the Arabic ???
No “Mama” No “Dada” ??? No “NO”
She was slow ??? A “late developer” ???
oh and at her ENGLISH speaking nursery she learnt Arabic FIRST ???
If it was ENGLISH speaking why wasn’t someone speaking ENGLISH to an ENGLISH child ???
and was nobody speaking to her at all at home ??? In ENGLISH etc ???
Kate is expecting again?
Yeah it’s baloney.
My mother was born in Marseilles but then spent a good bit of her childhood in Egypt and of course learned some Arabic. Same with this. I would guess they are trying to brag on a nonexistent toddler diversity bullcrap. My first husband (and the biological father of my kids) was Greek and I did make an effort when the kids were little to teach them Greek. They learn quite fast when that age. Of course they can easily forget it all later if it isn’t kept up.
Well, the C. of E.’s direction under Charles’ mother is quite disastrous to say the least. They have already had at least one Archbishop of Canterbury that was openly a druid, and that’s only one piece of the unraveling.
Never mind Charles declaring back in 2008 that he will take the title “Defender of faith” rather than “Defender of the Faith” per tradition, should he accede to the throne.
I agree most of it is tabloid garbage. I’m just stating we, FR, have plenty of non important “news”. It’s okay to have breaks from important news, as it makes one mad otherwise.
Have a good day.
I call extreme BS on this story. Two years old to four years old. Attended English-speaking nursery. Lived at home with two English-speaking parents. Yeah; right. She learned Arabic before English. Gimme a break.
