Five people were injured — including four teenagers — when they were attacked by pit bulls in the Bronx, police said.
The dog handlers, both 36, were walking the animals just before 10 p.m. Sunday near Pelham Parkway and Lurting Avenue in Morris Park when the dogs got loose, police sources said.
The pit bulls then went after a nearby group of eight people, attacking five of them.
The victims — all females, ages 12, 15, 16, 17 and 45 — suffered bites and cuts. They were taken to Jacobi Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The dogs were taken to Animal Care Centers of New York.
The handlers, identified by police sources as Yoandra Espinosa and Adina Marinescu, were issued summonses.

There are just too many of these stories. Obviously these dogs weren’t bred to be loving house pets. I know many who have them will argue against this, but there’s just too much evidence to the contrary.
Those doggies are sooooo special. Every pet lover should have one.
10:00 pm? Give me a break. I'll give the dogs a pass on this one. Something doesn't pass the smell test. I think they were somehow threatening the dog walkers in some manner. Probably menacing behavior.

It sounds like a parent was walking with 4 teens, maybe home from a movie or something. I would imagine the teens were talking and carrying on like teens do - probably laughing, maybe acting dorky. That might be enough to set the dogs off. It’s a stretch to say they were threatening the dog walkers and deserved to be attacked.
I would guess that Fhios is a proud owner of one of these dogs of peace.
I never considered that. Dogs of peace lol. I used to say that islam is the pit bull of religions. They may seem fine, but you never know when one is going to explode.

These dogs were selectively bred to be fighters. It should surprise no one when one or more of them decides to do a little fighting.

Note: there appears to be more attention by media for several reasons here, not the least being: Victims and perps all female, vid of dogs with handlers available, victims all muslims well spoken, injuries minor.
How do two dogs get loose at the same time? I bet they were let loose.
At 10 PM the four teenage girls and the adult guardian were probably outside enjoying a nice early summer night and didn’t even see the dogs lunging at them, until it was too late.
Hopefully the authorities will but the dogs down and the owners will be sued.
