That’s an old sales ploy. I’ve used it. My wife was a Master at it. The customer would be ready to sign the contract and she would pull it back and say “Why don’t you go to lunch and think about it.”. The customer would play tug of war with the contract.

It’s called “The Takeback”. No, this car’s not for you, it’s too expensive (or whatever). Lets look at this one it’s a bit more sensible for you.

Dumb move, beyond dumb ... there’s no word how dumb that is. I’ve preached for decades - when you get what you want in sales, shut up, be cordial, cement good judgement on their part, enthusiasm. Then get the hell out remembering above all else to shut up.
